Cot for a bad back?

I am looking for a cot with a full drop side, or another solution. I’ve bulged a couple of discs in my back and can’t keep reaching in and out of the cot with an ever increasing weight as it’s making it worse! Has anyone any suggestions? Baby is 11 months old and not standing independently yet so I’ve been pushing it with a travel cot with a new born level but that isn’t going to last much longer. I’ve looked at the Tutti Bambini XL all in one thing, however I read mixed reviews. All suggestions gratefully received!

I don’t make they make cots like these anymore for safety reasons

I've had a bad back for years. I knew this would be an issue for me when pregnant. I couldn't find a drop down cot and this was 18 years ago! Do you know anyone handy? I bought an ordinary cot with wooden bars and my FIL who is DIY crazy converted it to a drop down for me by cutting the bars 2/3 down, setting theminto a wooden bar and making a bar for the top of the cut bits to secure into...these stsyed fixed. He then fitted a hinge to the bar of the top 2/3 so they dropped downwards and fixed them with a baby friendly fixing that, I'm sorry, I can't quite remember exactly what. Anyone DIY I'm sure will have some ideas....it can be done and it worked for me fine and my dd was very safe and secure. Sorry...quite hard to describe 😅

How lovely of your FiL! I’ve been thinking that this is the way forward - thanks for sharing. I will have a chat with my Dad and see if he will help!

Hi, I would love to hear how you got on with the cot? Did you have to adapt an existing one? I hope your back has got better, I have a similar problem with disc bulges & dreading moving my little one into a cot for this reason!
