Single bed suitable for toddler

My nearly two year old is in a cot bed. But sometimes needs me to cuddle her back to sleep. So I'm thinking about getting a single bed for her so I can easily fit in if I need too. Looking for one low down. Thanks

have you looked on Ikea? they have good single beds of all heights

iloveyankeecandle · 31/01/2023 14:17

@parietal I have but some of the reviews were quite bad for low level ones

I’ve been researching this too, and it’s not easy to find one!

I think easier option if just buy a decent single mattress for the next year, age 2-3. Use that on the floor. Then nearer 3 they can use any height single easier so you can buy any single.

Although I like the ikea hemnes used as a single with just one single mattress. Has loads of storage and pretty good value

I have the Ikea Utaker ones.

We have one for DD and the other is used like a day bed elsewhere in the house. If you wanted to just build one of them to use then the box that it comes in is very compact and can fit underneath the other bed until you felt you wanted the second one. Think it'll be handy for sleepovers one day. Note it's a funny size mattress so you need to get it from IKEA.

But the issue with the IKEA one is that the mattress isn’t the Ujal’s standard size one. We have a mattress already so it I wouldn’t work for us

We've got the ikea minnen one and we love it

I've seen some low down ones with wood over the top to make a roof of that makes sense? They look very low.

Bedoo have some low ones which aren’t the tent style ones, although I’ve never bought from there. There seems to be more low bed options outside the UK! The lowest single bed I’ve found has an floor to underside clearance of 20cm

Google for Montessori floor bed and you’ll find loads of suitable frames.

My SIL recently bought 2yo DN a low double bed from ikea! She swears by it and said it's so much easier for when she has to get in with DN to go to sleep/if he's poorly. She has a bed guard up so he doesn't fall out.

Seems to work really well!
