Chicco next to me magic- waterproof mattress ideas

Hello all
I have a next to me magic but have realised the mattress is not waterproof! Very odd for a new born!
Anyone had one/ got one that could recommend a waterproof cover I could use?
I suffer with anxiety so I'm worried about getting the right one so it doesn't harm the baby/ detract from the bad itself.
Thanks in advance.

There are loads on amazon. Nearly all are just waterproof mats that fit under a sheet but they worked fine for me. Just look for ones that fit the size.

Hi, I got this one and it’s fantastic, doesn’t feel crinkly or plastic at all. Just like very thick cotton. Check the measurements match up but would highly recommend

I don't think it's possible for a waterproof sheet to harm a baby. I'd look on amazon for one that fits and has good reviews.

Side note - if you're not already being treated for your anxiety i would really try to get a therapy referral/prescription/both ASAP as sleep deprivation and post-natal hormone surges will likely make everything much worse.

I swear by Hippy Chick mattress protectors - we’ve got one on every bed in the house in various sizes even now my DC are teens, to protect against tea spills, period accidents, sweaty nights, vomiting cats. Some of them are fifteen years old and still fine.

@ShirleyPhallus
This was the one I was just looking at! Thanks. I will measure and see.
@Somethingorotherorother thank you. I've been treated in the past and my maternity team are aware. I think it's a mix of first time mum concerns and anxiety. If it gets any worse I will talk to people. Thanks.

You’re welcome 😊

FWIW my anxiety really lifted after giving birth, I think the mix of hormones and lack of work stress really helped me and I felt much more relaxed after the baby was here. Hope that’s the case for you too

@ShirleyPhallus that's what I'm hoping- instinct will take over. I've not been at work since March so I've had all the time in the world to find things to worry about- didn't even think about mattress until I came across advice from the lullaby trust!
Thank so much

I can’t actually help you with that one, I had one but then totally forgot it existed and forgot to use it so have no idea if they work. Might be worth an AS for that Flowers

@ShirleyPhallus
Thanks very much. I have another thread open but just thought I'd ask.
Cheers
Take care
