Nuna Sena vs Baby Bjorn travel cots

Hi,

I'm trying to decide between the Nuna Sena and Baby Bjorn travel cots and I've given myself a bit of information overload and feel stuck with which to go for.

The Nuna appeals as it seems really robust, easy to use and there's quite a few available at a decent price on eBay. The newborn bassinet looks good too, as does the mattress being slightly off the ground. Downsides seem to be its bulky, looks a little awkward/heavy when folded and some mixed reviews about the mattress.

The Baby Bjorn looks to be much more contained when folded, and the mattress looks really good, but it's so expensive for something that looks quite basic, and there are significantly fewer second hand options.

Primarily we'd be using it within the UK visiting family and friends but also likely to want to take it abroad at some stage. I'm also unsure whether I need to buy a new mattress if I get a second hand one, in which case the Baby Bjorn would be easier as I can't see replacement Nuna mattresses anywhere (although Nuna mattress looks to be washable).

If anyone has either of the two and could share their perspectives I'd be super grateful! Hoping your collective wisdom will give me a kick up the ...... and help me just make a decision! Thanks xx

To be honest, a travel cot is a travel cot 🤷‍♀️ we bought I guess a mid-range one (joie commuter) before our first baby was born, but since then I've used a variety of different ones including a few different £20 ones. They're a not really any difference between them. Only thing I'd say is worth considering is whether they're a standard size if you're wanting to get an additional mattress to use (the Joie is a weird size and it took me ages to find a mattress that would fit!).

That's really helpful thank you! Perhaps a cheap one with a better mattress might be the way to go? I think I've probably massively over thought it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am impressed with the Babybjorn. Haven't tried or compared the nuna so you would have to see.
The babybjorn folds way smaller than almost all other regular travel cots though, into a small square rather than long rectangle. Def an advantage for packing in car, or on plane. As the mattress is on the floor it also has a higher weight and age limit than most as can't tip easily. Ours stores compactly just at the side of washing machine when not in use.

The mattress is fine and you can't really change easily as it has straps under the mattress which you use to attach to frame when setting up, so could only change for a another babybjorn not a random make mattress.

We have the Nuna Sena. It's easy to set up and fold away but I wouldn't take it abroad because it's too bulky. We have an estate car so don't find it being bulkier a problem when transporting it in the UK. Our DD sleeps really well in it and the mattress looks comfortable too.
