Chicco Next2Me Magic is tilted

I have been using a Chicco Next2Me cot with my new born and have noticed it is slightly tilted thus my baby wakes up with his face against the side bar. I thought it was him that moved naturally towards us but have tried moving it and rotating it and it is always against the same side (with the side that lowers down) even if we are the other way around. I can also see that the cot tilts a bit even without the baby.

Any has had the same experience?

I complained to John Lewis and they said it was fine, when it is clearly not and still trying to get a proper response (they are being terrible, with really late emails and asking for pics even if I have already sent them).

Hi all, my husband put together our next2me magic crib and I've noticed it's on a horizontal tilt but he said he followed instructions step by step so I cant see what's wrong. Having looked at previous posts I've checked and the claws seem to be on correctly facing the right way up. Baby isn't born yet but I'm worried he might end up rolling. Have attached a picture of the tilt, does anyone else's look like this? This is when in locked position with the claws clipped onto the side bar, to me the bottom frame seems to be at an angle??

The only way I’ve managed to keep my little one flat is rolling a towel under the mattress on the lower side to lift it. Seems to keep him still now

Mine is exactly the same! I'm going to try and pull it level with the straps tomorrow

Hi everyone. We faced the same problem and just realized what the issue is and was able to fix it in five minutes. The side posts of the crib, the ones that have the "claws" below that grab to the central support structure (the tube in the middle), were on the opposite sides of where they should be. I put the first the other way around and that creates the unwanted tilt. The posts are on the instructions manual identified as E, or crib structure side uprights.

How to fix it.

  1. Review if the "claws's" mouth is open facing the crib the part below the crib or facing outwards. It should be facing towards the crib (like in the picture I'm attaching). If they're facing outward, that's creating the tilt.
  2. If they are facing outward, remove the crib from the main structure.
  3. Open the zipper.
  4. Remove the side posts. YES, they are removable. They have a clickable part below them, and you should remove them from the main structure in the upper part by clicking on small button they have.
  5. After you remove both, install them again on opposite sides. Change the left to the right side and vice versa, so that the claws' mouth in the lower part faces the lower part of the crib.
  6. Install the crib on the main structure again and make sure there's no more tilting. Now the claws are grabbing the middle structure looking towards the crib and that eliminates the tilting.
  7. Close the zipper.

Hope it helps!

Hi there I'm a Dad, not a Mum but just wanted to say Hi and thanks- as I experienced the same out-of-level issue when I bought a shop-floor model locally, and had been pre-assembled.

I was alarmed when I noticed the lateral tilt and knew something mustn't be right. The pictures in the instruction manual were a clue but it wasn't til I read this post/thread that I really understood what they had done wrong.

So anyway, thanks and "phew!" to the age of parenting with the assistance of internet forums.

Cheers!

Hello! So glad this thread exists still! How did you manage to change the clips round? Can you recall? Someone else put ours together and I can't work out how to remove them.

Thanks so much!

Hi, our Iora Air has the same issue. The crib is permanently tilted to the side, even with the legs on the non rocking ‘fixed’ position. Did you manage to find a fix for this?

We have the version without claws and it's slanted! Not sure what to do and considering buying another cot im that exasperated. Anyone got a fix for the model without claws
