Looking for a cot for tall parents!

Hello there :-),
I can't seem to find a cot which would have tall legs so the baby's mattress is actually higher up off the ground and it helps their tall parents not having to bend so much. So basically, the railings have to be much higher up too and they have to slide down at least on one side.
Does anyone know where to get one of these or something similar? Would pay good money for it!
Many thanks
V. x

My dc are all in double figures now, so I can't comment on what is available now, but we had bedside cots for them, which solved the problem. The cot base could be set to the height of the adult bed, and the sides moved with it. This meant that we never had to lower the cot once the babies could stand.

Hi JellySlice :-)

Thank you for your message! That sounds great! Where did you get it, do you remember? If you could give me any more information I would really appreciate it.

I'm sorry, I don't remember. I've had a rummage online, and I can't find anything like it, either.

A shame, because they were very good cots. Our dc were in them until 3-3.5y, even though they were standard cot size, because they were so comfortable to use.

I wonder whether bed risers or chair risers under a standard cot would help?

These are the cots, or very very similar.

Im just trying to sell ours on market place

You need a 3 base position dropside standard cot

Lucky you being tall! I'm so short that I struggle to put my baby down gently into the travel cot as I just can't reach the bottom!

What about Stokke sleepi cots? We had ours from about 3months to 6 years for what became a very tall child. You are able to change how high the mattress is off the ground to suit the age and bounciness of the child. (To prevent them escaping over the top later on.), but early on it was almost the height of a changing stand as I remember. When no longer used as a bed, it was converted into a chair for his room.

Moreover, to emphasis comfort and size, when my son was ill when he was about 4 years old, I (5foot5) managed to go to sleep in it cuddling him.

We got it from www.backinaction.co.uk

Hello everyone,
thanks so much for your tips!!! All very interesting and helpful.
I think JellySlice is onto something with bed risers together with Helspopje. We need the mattress higher off the ground whilst one side of it drops. Is that Mothercare who stocks the drop side cots? I would much rather have the cot propped up higher and drop the side whenever I needed.
If I forget about our backs, what really bothers me as well is that when the mattress is lowered for the standing baby, they sleep so close to the floor! It's not healthy to sleep in the cold dusty air! I know myself, whenever I slept on a mattress on the floor I just hated it. I don't understand why that's ok for babies. We went to Ikea at the weekend to see if they had any clever designs but no. And they were horrifically low! Even the lowest futon bed for adults by them is higher off the ground.
The Stokke sleepi furniture is genius in how it grows with the child but again, it bothers me that they are so low. I understand the child's independence is the reason but I have always been funny about being so close to the floor... maybe it's just me. I know I'm allergic to dust and floor is where it settles. You can't keep the carpet/floor pristinely clean so dust will always circulate near the floor.
Thanks again for so many tips! I really appreciate everyone's help.
Veronika :-)
