I'm trying to think of alternatives once baby is too big for a moses basket. It would be for day time naps. I won't have a pram carry cot and don't have the space to leave a pushchair unfolded in the lounge or kitchen.

For sleeping in the evening, before you go to bed and still want the baby with you, I posted on here for advice on this and was recommended one of these it's really good! We used ours until baby started sleeping (in theory 😑) upstairs in the evening at about 8 months, and are keeping it for any future holidays, sleepovers with Nanna etc. Less "exposed" than a sheepskin on the floor but still comfy. He used to go in there at bedtime, we'd watch TV or read or whatever until I went to bed, at which point I'd take him up and do a dream feed to cover the transition into his cot. Worked really well.

I thought that was just overnight. Wow advice just changes/develops so quickly.

You will probably get people telling you btw that it's absolutely impossible to follow the safe sleep guidelines with more than one child, and theirs was in their own room alone for all sleeps from day one. It's not impossible, I have three and have managed it well, it's about choices.

It's been the sids guidelines at least 6 years

Yep, same room until around 6 months.

Don't see what the problem is if you have more than one child? DS2 slept on the floor/sofa/me/wherever and still does ah 2yo during the day. Was in the same room as me 99% if the time, just because it was easier. Sleeps through almost anything these days...

My 4 month old has just got too big for her bouncy chair. But they can nap in it from birth. :)

OurGrowingFamily · 24/04/2016 21:23

We have a baby bean bag for naps too which she hasn't outgrown get

I second the sleepyhead suggestion.

Babybjorn bouncer is good for newborns to about 6/7 months as it has 3 reckine angles.

Mine wouldn't nap downstairs after about 3 months - too nosy!

We had a Tiny Love 3 In 1 Napper for dc2 (wish I knew it existed with dc1). Perfect for naps up til he was about 7mo.
