Stompa Rondo Cabin Bed

Anyone got one of these, or have any knowledge of the Stompa brand please?

Need to get DS a new bed as he's getting far too big for his long-ago converted cot-bed, and I'm wondering if that's why he's sleeping so badly. He has, of course, asked for a new bed "with a ladder" so now I'm trying to find one that I won't be fretting about him falling out of when trying to get down. I like the look of the ladders on the Stompa Rondo's as they seem more like steps than a ladder IYSWIM.

I've found one place which sells them as a basic model (i.e. only the bed and the frame - none of the drawers/cubes etc underneath) which puts it just about in our price range, and would be more useful anyway - I imagined beneath the bed being like a play area rather than a storage area.

Any advice/other suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Hi MrsKitty, I am wondering the same thing! Anyone?

MrsKitty · 15/05/2011 21:46

Chocattack Got a Stompa in the end - very pleased with it! And was lucky enough to find one on Ebay 2nd hand in my area just hours before I intended to part with several hundred pounds Grin. It's in excellent condition too - Think they're sturdy enough to be a good 2nd hand buy if you can find one. We just replaced the mattress.

Gosh you're lucky, MrsKitty. Well done! Is it a Rondo? I can't seem to find anywhere locally that have that range on display (only the Uno) and I'm reluctant to purchase without viewing first. Thanks for the tip I will definitely investigate second hand!

Yes, a Rondo. Best Ebay Day Ever!

what age area they meant to be for and what is a 'mid sleeper'?

MrsKitty · 21/05/2011 14:40

Well, DS is 4.5 - He's just outgrown his converted cotbed, and the person who I bought it from said they were selling them as their son was beginning to outgrow it - He was 13. It's basically a normal sized single bed, on stilts! Not as high as a bunk bed or a 'high sleeper' which is where they sleep about 5-6 ft in the air, but high enough that DS can use underneath as a little play den/store toys under there, or you can get the furniture to fit underneath (drawers/shelves etc).

thanks
MrsKitty DD is in the same position as your DS, just outgrowing her cotbed so we're thinking of what to get her next. Her room is quite small so it would be good to maximise space with something similar. Will have a look on ebay as they are very ££££££££££££ new
