Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Ready beds or z-beds?

DTs have outgrown their travel cots. We are going to ILs next weekend and there is very limited space for us all to sleep (all in same room). They have suggested getting 2 ready beds (inflatable ones) but we are not sure if they are any good. Although they have bedding etc built in, what happens if they have accidents? Ds2 threw up 3x last night and I'm not sure what would happen if he did the same thing in one of these beds. Are they any good - has anyone used them?

The alternative is foam z-beds/chairbeds which are double the price but I think will last longer. The downside is that we will need to bring bedding or get the ILs to get some. Any suggestions gratefully received!

Ready beds didn't work for our two, they hated them! You can unzipped the bedding and pop in the wash if they have an accident.

We used and stll do a simple blow up mattress, works well every time.

DD adores her ready bed - at MIL's she chose it over a whole double bed to herself. Can you borrow some to try and see if your children like them?

We have the junior ready bed, btw - lots sturdier and warmer than the toddler ones.

habbibu - I think the space is that limited that the junior beds won't fit but will get ILs to check dimensions. Are they noisy? As they are in the same room as us, we think we may be kept awake by them both moving around.

oneliein thanks for info about it unzipping. Why did your DCs hate them?
