Is it possible to make 50-100 a month doing surveys or posting leaflets?

I’m on prolific and aim for 20 a week.

instagram seems to have moved from promoting solo travel to these super eager women telling you to complete surveys and mystery shop as a ‘side hustle’. It’s BS and just another scam it keeps coming up on my feed/reels. You’d be lucky to earn a few quid a month, it’s all copy and paste and repeat.

Prolific is definitely the best paid by far, especially the AI ones. I am earning between £25 and £40 a day but that is sitting doing them for a good part of the day

I’ve just signed up for Prolific too and have been accepted this morning. They are asking for photo ID. Does this seem right?

Ive just done this too, and got accepted. They did want photo ID and also a video. That felt a bit too much, so Ive deleted my account.

I joined years ago but earlier this year they asked for id which I sent them. My DH who only joined last year was also asked for id this year. Seems to be something they are now asking for

I do mostly via playing the games listed on Swagbucks - never spend any money. Add in consumer pulse and user testing, it’s pretty easy to hit.

They have to check ID so they know who they are paying.

More and more of the tasks on offer require video, so maybe they only want to recruit new people willing to use video.

I’ve been on Prolific for years, I probably make about £30 a month if I go regularly. Unfortunately I cannot do the AI ones as I cannot make my screen size big enough. I don’t both either any of the other survey sites, but I do Influence (used to be VoxPopMe) and Shoppix

DominoLover51 · 08/05/2026 13:50

O, I also do Consumerpulse

Sarah2891 · 08/05/2026 13:51

I get £20-30 a month from one of them. Which is good to me after waiting about 8 months to get £50 from youguv.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 11/05/2026 08:52

Im on yougov but its taking forever...i reckon it will be 6 to 8 months before i make £50

DogAnxiety · 13/05/2026 00:00

I’m suspicious these sites basically pay far below the minimum wage. When I tried I lasted about a day before practically throwing my device across the room in a fit of pique, having filled in 20 minutes of questions to then be told I’d been screened out. Nice bit of data harvesting there. Plus the quality of the “research” these companies do must be absolutely abysmal.

If you’re short of a few bob, I’d recommend getting on a local neighbourhood site and picking up work that way. There are endless, endless people looking for cleaners, drivers, babysitters, grass cutters, flat pack assemblers and people needing a 3 suitcases moved from A to B on mine!

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/05/2026 06:36

I'm plodding my way along on YouGov, I'm about a third of my way to my £50. I also use Shoppix, and get 'paid' in Amazon vouchers, which I use to buy Kindle books (I read a lot!). I would say that it's advisable to cash in any reward as soon as you reach the threshold, as it's not protected.

I've been on the Prolific waiting list for years!

I'm pondering using Swagbucks, and possibly signing up to Ipsos I say.

I'm retired, wake up very early, and always have a cup of tea in bed before getting up, so use that time to do surveys. It's not going to make me rich, but is a nice little boost!

DominoLover51 · 13/05/2026 09:42

I do Shoppix as well. Also considering IPSOSISay

BatshitCrazyWoman · 13/05/2026 22:12

Ipsos iSay rejected me 😂

DogAnxiety · 13/05/2026 23:41

Seriously though, I don’t get this survey malarkey. Is it not just the exploitation of women?? Your time is precious. I wouldn’t be spending my minutes after I woke on doing a survey for less than a £1. I’d rather sell some shit on eBay and enjoy my waking moments. Or just… enjoy my waking moments 😂
