Leather paint for sandals. Success!

I wore my gold Fly Fot sandals to death last year. On holiday and at home.
Got them out and noticed how faded they were in parts. Still wearable so was thinking of putting them in the charity bag. Then I thought I wonder if you can get gold leather paint? Yes I could. Bought it and have painted them today. They look fab.
They were about £40 new. Paint cost £6. I should get another year and if they're still in one piece I can repaint as hardly used any.

Brilliant idea.Ive just bought some sandals almost same price and was struggling with whether to keep as a lot of money but if I can do this then it'll be economical.

Honestly they look like new.

I'm a crafter so have lots of odd paint samples, varnishes etc. I had a pair of suede flip flops I used for comfort, work and over time they got very stained which was impossible to clean. Instead of getting rid, I thought what do I have to lose?
I had a brown emulsion match pot that I put on I think two layers and then a layer of varnish. I thought it would all crack but it didn't and they're still going strong.
I remember a programme about a theatre wardrobe manager and they were painting shoes with acrylic paint as it's waterproof. Also it comes in Matt, satin finish and gloss in certain colours.

That's good to hear @YourChirpyFatball . I'm sure this paint is just acrylic? Hopefully it doesn't wear off too soon?

My tip is that nail varnish is good for touching up patent leather. Very useful for girls' school shoes. I also have a little pot of very shiny silver 'shoe cream' that has revitalised a pair of silver flats quite a few times now.

@skkyelark good tips thanks
