Hey all
Unfortunately due to miscarriage history & various reasons - - haven't had the blessing of being lucky enough to be parents yet..

We have ivf super soon

In terms of a Mum managing on maternity allowance ( 187 gbp gross weekly) &.child benefit..

In terms of keeping little one in milk / nappies..

This budget wouldn't be for big items etc and living costs ie heating / water/ sheiter
Would be covered already/ elsewhere

Looking to hear from some mums who have ' got by ' on not heaps at start of mat leave (?)

Obviously will save between now & then & have some savings too

If literally all you need to pay for out of it is milk & nappies then it is more than enough money

That’s definitely enough for milk and nappies. You also need to be looking after yourself on that too though!

Save as much as humanly possible. Everyone says it’s really cheap but you might be in a position where you’re desperate to get out of the house every day (I was!) and all the coffees or little trips to Sainsburys add up. Obviously not compulsory but all the little treats were big highlights on dreary groundhog days 😂🫠

Start saving now and look into breastfeeding as this will save on formula.

If it’s just for milk and nappies you will be fine. Both are very cheap in Aldi.

Nappies 75p a pack for newborn in Aldi. Pampers not required.
