Evening all, was wondering if anyone had experienced similar and could advise?

Have been with Sky for 6 years, never changing current package/haggling for a reduction. So over 3 years out of contract.

Our current bill is approx. £140 per month.

Our package is...

Sky Q plus a second mini box
Sky Broadband which in itself is shocking, averaging 13mpbs.
Sky Entertainment
Sky Cinema
Sky Kids
Phone Line, which is not even plugged in.

After seeing they are offering existing customers the same Black Friday Promotion as new customers I decided it would be for the best.

The package we looked at online offered.
Sky Glass
Sky Live
Sky Entertainment & Netflix
Whole Home with 2x Pucks
For £61 per month...

Was unable to add broadband as what they provide is not sufficient to run Sky Glass. So happy to receive from a different provider. Also wanted to remove Sky Cinema and Sky Kids. Online said it was not proceed and needed to call.

So called number provided and they were most unhelpful and quoting me approx. £160 per month not including the upfront cost of £59 and for only one puck. Was told I needed to accept the new contract including my current package, before I could remove additional channels and broadband. But surely these three things broadband, sky cinema & sky kids doesn't equate to the excess £100 per month which would need to be deducted.

Also, if I was to accept a new contract, the Sky Cinema, Kids and Broadband would be in the 24 Month contract so unsure how this would work, especially with them saying we could only try to cancel these once Sky Glass was activated. Which they were unsure when would be.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated if can get for the original price quoted, otherwise I'm tempted to just cancel and move to Virgin as this was who I was choosing for broadband as offering me over 350mpbs.

We got rid of sky after 10 years a few years ago, I'm pretty sure the kids still haven't noticed! we have Disney plus and Netflix so pay around £60 for all tv and broadband. we don't watch any live tv, BBC or channel 4 etc as there's nothing of interest to us on them so no tv licence either.
I never paid full price for sky though i found to get the best prices you have to take it right up to cancellation I got the best offers once we were down to last few days, but that was a few year ago now.

I've been with Sky for about 9 years now. Agree the broadband is terrible always cutting out. I'm £65 a month for BB, phone (evening & weekends don't even use it) an 'entertainment' package which is basic channels with a few extra and I have multi room 2 boxes 1 in each bedroom. I plan to get rid hopefully soon as have Disney and Netflix and don't watch live TV. I also need recommendations for decent WiFi.

Each time I come to the end of my contract, I call up and say I can’t afford what they are increasing it to, and get them to make me an offer. I then call back a week later and say it’s still too expensive so what can they do, or I’ll cancel.

We’ve got:

Sky Q
Sky Broadband
Sky Sports
Sky Entertainment
Sky Kids
Netflix

for £72 per month. I then pay £3.99 for Now Cinema which is Sky Cinema. I have a year of Disney+ free via my phone contract and DH had it last year on his phone contract.

It’s a faff to do every couple of years but I always make sure I have priced up the equivalent alternative to make sure I have a sensible number to counter with.
