House running costs

Considering moving to a new(ish) build house maybe brand new, but probably one that's approx 5-10years old. Reason for move is that I think we are heading for divorce sadly, and I know I can't afford our bills by myself. We currently live in an old (1890s) house and our energy bills are large because it's not very energy efficient - I have 3 kids so ideally would have a 4 bed house - so can you tell me what your average newish build house costs to 'run'? What are your gas/electric etc bills? I need to work out what I can afford.
Thanks

I have a 4 bed end town house, approx 10 years old.

My monthly direct debits are:
Gas/electric £105
Water £30

I think you would get more traffic getting this moved to Property/DIY, OP.

So much will depend on your lifestyle, if you've got 3 kids who take long baths or shower twice a day, if you work from home and have the heating on during the day, dishwasher and tumble dryer use etc etc. My DD is £113 a month for a single person in a (draughty) 2 bed flat and I like to think i'm pretty efficient with energy use - don't have a tumble drier, use an airfryer rather than the oven a lot, shower at work or the gym a couple of times a week, dishwasher goes on every few days, don't have gaming devices or TVs on for long periods of time, but I do work from home a couple of days a week.
A new build will probably have a water meter so you'd be paying for what you use rather than the rateable value of your home. Don't forget council tax, buildings and contents insurance, broadband and tv etc. Also check if there's any sort of management fees on a newer estate as some have communal areas of grass etc that you'll be billed for the maintenance of.

Gas and electric is £300 a month, council tax £189 water £45 insurance £20 there are two of us in a 1950s bungalow

I moved into a new build house which has solar panels, only a two bed with one teen dd though.

Gas and electric combined is £88 a month.

Water £48 but we're in the south west so it's generally more expensive.

The house is well insulated and I only put the heating on when there's a frost/it's very cold.

Sorry to hear of the situation you’re in — that’s so difficult for you 😞 Have you looked into the Eco4 scheme? If you qualify, you could have all sorts of measures installed on the property to help with the efficiency (solar panels, new boiler, insulation, etc). I’m not sure of your financial situation but that would save you some money in the property you’re in currently until you find somewhere/if you were wanting to stay) x
