I dont have much money sick of scrimping and saving

I guess its different for everyone but i like to read a good book (free from library) cook a nice treat dinner (much cheaper than eating out) do my nails, a face mask, find somewhere with lovely scenery to go for a walk with the dog a bonus last month was there was lots of wild fruit i could pick! so i got to bake some apple and blackberry pies & cakes, watch a favourite movie or tv series. god i sound dull 😂

All of the above and I also do an online beginners yoga class, I follow one on Youtube. It does make me feel better to have a stretch, and I find it quiets the mind too.

I also have a cosy evening, a bath, pjs on, make a mug of cocoa, if I don't have enough milk, its fine made with dried milk. Curl up on the sofa and watch a feel good film or read a well loved book.

Good question. For me it's a bath. Watch a whole movie in the bath x then home pedicure.

I love going to the library. I walk to mine, it's about half an hour each way, so the walk is also good for me. I know the staff now and we have a chat and I like looking round. I do order books in too as it's only small

If it's a bit sunny (even if chilly) I'd go for a walk around the lake or woods, fuss as many dogs as possible, collect some bits of 'whatever' depending on just how skint, buy something I fancied for dinner (even if that's just a packet of crumpets! Or plan the nicest thing out of what I have at home, buy a packet of popcorn kernels & make a large bowl of popcorn & choose a great film to watch.

Obviously, walk along the beach if there's one close enough! My life was immeasurably better when I did.

Make some cheese scones.

play some board games if you can find a willing victim!!

kidnap a friends dog (tonight's plan. I have 'a date' with a beautiful lab!!)

kidnap a friend's child (next Saturday nights plan. Friends 2 & 4 year olds staying, while friend & DH go away to a wedding for the weekend)

knit/crochet a pumpkin!

Take a walk somewhere pretty

Make your own coffee in a takeaway cup and buy something from the Lidl bakery...it's a bargain!

Blast out some good music, read a book, watch something funny on the goggle box

GiddyRobin · 21/09/2024 17:38

How about a walk to the library or charity shop for a book, come home and make a hot drink and tuck in. Pan of comforting soup on the go and good music and a kitchen dance, hot bath (wine optional!), then fresh bedsheets and an early night to read.

Yoga has always brightened my mood. There are lots of free online classes. Boardgames with DH, a long hike with a picnic even if it's just some sarnies and a flask of tea.

Walks in nature.

I love doing this no matter what my bank balance is saying.

HowYouSpellingThat10 · 22/09/2024 10:23

I do walks and sea swimming.

I like taking a cup of tea with me in a flask.

I also get some pleasure out of making meals that stretch. Last week I had reduced chicken and wraps so I made enchiladas (with frozen peppers and veg). I needed passata so made the rest into pasta sauce.

Seeing all the little portions ready for the week/freezer and using up everything in its last legs made me happy.
