Hi
I’m always looking at ways to cut grocery budget , do usual :audit freezer/cupboards , however for 2adults we still spend £500 a month on food ? not take outs ? Supermarket shop ? Have a separate account of grocery shop, though wanting to reduce to at least £60 per week ? We bulk buy laundry liquid and Toilet rolls - so only buy once every 2/3months . Thankyou

Cleaning stuff can be expensive if you're buying separate bathroom/toilet/kitchen cleaners, not to mention bad for the environment with all the different bottles that are single use.

For a while now I have bought all-purpose cleaner or cheap disinfectant (a liquid cleaner that can be used for the floor and also diluted in a spray bottle for surfaces). You don't need separate cleaners and don't need to buy cloths (once a t-shirt or pair of PJ's becomes old, or tea towels and towels/flannels have seen better days, cut it up into cloths and bung in a hot wash with the tea towels/towels/bed sheets to clean and reuse).

Standard bleach down the loo (instead of the fancier 'duck' ones). You don;t need things that hook on the side or sit in the tank to clean, likewise you don;t need those expensive things that sit on the end of a stick to clean your loo. If you squirt some bleach down when you know it won't be used for at least half an hour it will work without the need for physical agitation.

Usually things that are sold as targeted to certain areas (think painkillers; period painkillers, headache painkillers, toothache painkillers) is a lot of marketing nonsense.

Sorry, I didn't mean this to sound so dictatorial; I've just read it back and it sounds like I do when i'm lecturing my kids 😊
