I know that if someone contacted our local church asking for help, members of various committees would rally round within hours. Do you have a way to contact your local church? Alternatively, I believe Sikh gurdwaras are a fantastic source of help if you have one locally.
Ask your community for help. They will help where they can.

See if there is a Sikh gurdwara anywhere near you - they will often have a community kitchen offering meals to anyone who needs one.

Do your kids go to nursery OP, even if only funded hours? If yes, they may be able to help. I say this as mine would - they work closely with the community and often say they have food or milk spare if wanted. There are people who can help - don’t be afraid to ask. I’m sorry for your situation.

Doesn't matter if you believe in God or what is your religion - please contact local church or mosque. You'll able to get help there, and usually it's wayyyyy faster than referalls to food banks, etc.
Our local mosque providing hot food parcels and our local church has kind of food bank, these don't need referalls.

I'm so sorry you are in this situation.

If I were in this situation I would try not to let pride prevent me from feeding DC. I might start by calling in at the vicarage of a nearby church and asking for help. You can ask them to refer you to a foodbank for later in the week, and they should also provide you with some food to keep you and your family going for the next few days.

Or you could knock on a neighbour's door and explain, ask if they could lend you a couple of tins of soup and beans or some cheese and milk. You can pay them back when you are next paid.

Or post on local FB group and say due to an emergency you are without food or money for the next few days and ask if anyone local can help with emergency supplies. If someone did that in our area, they'd be given enough food for a fortnight within 10 minutes. You can promise to pay it forward when your circumstances improve.

Or go to a local supermarket that has a basket for food bank donations and ask to speak privately with the manager and explain your situation and ask if they would consider making up an emergency bag from the food bank donations.

Same

We often have posts on our local Fb group saying the same and people rally round

I've brought bags of shopping before for a local lady

How well do you know your neighbours ?

I can't believe any family
Or friends wouldn't give you a tin of beans and some slices of bread

or bag of pasta and jar of sauce if asked

Hope you got some help @BePearlQuoter

@BePearlQuoter if you live near Wembley you are close to multiple Sikh temples including the Sri Guru Singh Sabha temple which feeds upwards of 10,000 people in the community every month. You just need to turn up. You can get a bus from Wembley to the temple and it takes around 30 - 45 minutes depending where you live (this specific temple is in Southall but there are others close to you). They will also give you food to take home.
