Me too. I'm with British Gas & if they offer better deals they'll switch you to them. But you're still tied into NG for 18 months unless you want to pay the exit fees (£200 &£75).

not sure what to do.

I didn't know you could change with them. I might fix too...

I fixed this week with edf. I checked first on martin lewis website they do a calculation that advises if its worth it for you.

I used to be with EDF but switched to octopus and their customer service and app is so good. You get £50 into your account balance too if you get referred to switch

Octopus Energy

Octopus customers pay less: Cheaper than price-cap prices, rewards for using less when the grid is stressed, and smart tariff savings for your home, car or battery

Same. I will definitely keep an eye on rates though as my balance forecast went up by £20 a month after I fixed, which I assume means they expected prices to drop on the variable rate this year.

UK natural gas future price closed Friday 35% down on the year - which will soon be reflected in retail prices. With prices headed downwards, it's not a time to fix.

I fixed with eon for two years and I'm sure it will no doubt increase at some point

I’ve fixed with eon next so the rate is always less than the price cap .

It's a joke these price increases. We currently PAYG on meter. We want to switch to a smart meter. But apparently can't have it due to data strengths in our area. Anyone else hAve this problem.

I think costs will come down this year, we've more generation of eg solar etc, and longer term energy costs are down, certainly our oil is well down this year.

But we only pay £55/month so we aren't exactly spending much.

I'm tempted as we've been with EDF forever but they insist on you having smart meters installed to fix. The thought of turfing out the 2 hall cupboards for them to do this is too exhausting to even think about!

I did with Octopus because I got sick of the price cap changing (and my reccoended direct debit) changing every few months. With Aprils drop it will be costing me a little more than current price cap on my tariff but it ends in summer.

I've fixed with EDF today - borderline according to Martin Lewis , but although I think it will cost slightly more over the summer at least we've got next winter covered so to speak.
