I really like Farmfoods and save a lot of money in there. Love the random stuff they get in every now and then. Vegan mayo for 30p for a few months, protein bars 1/4 the normal price. Don't but the meat, more like veg/fruit and cupboard staples.

Angelof29th · 13/03/2024 20:58

90 toilet rolls for £20 is a great deal.

ForChicOpalBeaker · 13/03/2024 21:03

I think that was rude saying that i work for farmfoods and no I don't I work at pandora I always go in as a loyal customer

This sounds like an advert for Farmfoods.

The one near me is in a retail park so pretty big. It has random good offers on things, sometimes big brand cans and jars.

The Farmfoods own make food is pretty horrible sometimes, especially the meat.

The store is pretty dingy and customer service non existent!

I work at pandora actually and every shop is different same as pandora

Thankyou for your opinions

It's just so odd that if you were, for example canvassing opinions of Sainsburys you'd never be accused of working there.

MN are clearly incredulous that anybody could be happy with the service and products offered at such a low brow establishment.

I used to get my washing powder in there, 2 massive boxes of Persil non bio for £25. When I went back a few months ago, I nearly choked at the price. For the same size boxes was now £42, needless to say I didn't buy it. It can be good for some offers but last coupe of times I've been in, wasn't too impressed.

DrCoconut · 13/03/2024 21:57

I like it plus they have a new gluten free freezer but they are getting quite expensive. It used to be a real budget option.

inappropriateraspberry · 13/03/2024 21:58

I find it very expensive! All brand names that still seem a high price. I walk around now and again thinking I can get nicer stuff in Lidl for a lot less!

Another thing I love that I've night for years is the bags of frozen Casserole veg. I've got arthritis in my hands and it's so easy just to boil a pan of water, add stock cubes and a bag of frozen veg and add chicken/ham/beef and you have a stew or soup that's perfectly healthy but with very little effort.

I am also a huge fan of the ice creams that they stock randomly. I love eating cream egg corners in June, especially when you get them for 8 for £1 etc.

WorriedMillie · 14/03/2024 17:16

We’ve got a new one nearby and it’s great to pick up bargains, but you have to be careful, as some things are more expensive than the “big”supermarkets.
i stock up on bargain staples (tinned pulses, stock cubes- branded ones were 49p recently with a long date).
It’s great for biscuits and chocolate - 99p boxes of celebrations recently and as someone mentioned, cheap Aeros and they had some Spanish crisps last year that were amazing (and way below RRP).
I’ve also picked up bargains in the chilled section, like 9p tropicana recently and super cheap Boursin, which I froze.
I just like a mooch in there to see what they have, wouldn’t do my main shop there, but I don’t tend to buy much frozen food, due to storage

The loo rolls I buy are cheaper in home bargains

Heron Foods is also good for random bargains!

Diggetydawg · 14/03/2024 17:51

There's a small one where I live but it's very well stocked. I like it, great prices for some things but others quite expensive. Their own brand cheese and butter are lovely, nicer than most other places. It's also great for bread, pancakes etc, condiments, crisps, chocolate and random good buys. I don't actually get that much frozen food from there, weirdly.

OhmygodDont · 14/03/2024 19:30

I get the vouchers via email. We go for the toilet rolls, kids nuggets and burgers also the frozen veg.

Get some good bargains at times in there too we cleared out the shelf when the kinder eggs where stupid cheap 😅

Pontin · 02/09/2024 18:05

Went to farm foods on Saturday brought some chicken went on Monday today and it has gone up by £2 back to aldi for me am done with farm foods

Pontin · 02/09/2024 18:06

Not good am done

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 02/09/2024 18:07

I’ve never been in but Dh likes it. We have very different diets. He doesn’t really eat fresh food.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 02/09/2024 18:13

Our one smells a bit funny (the ghost of sour milk), the lighting is gloomy, and the overall atmosphere is liable to make you question your life choices. But I still go there for Merba cookies, Coppenrath & Wiese crumble cake, and a few other things. It is good value.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 02/09/2024 18:15

I am also a huge fan of the ice creams that they stock randomly.

Same!

ODFOx · 02/09/2024 18:16

It's great for the stuff on the leaflet. The chicken (some of it) is from the far east and I'm not able to check hygiene and welfare so I don't buy it. They sometimes have New Zealand lamb which is fantastic value.
IME their milk, cheddar and fresh veg are more expensive that Tesco but prices will vary. I tend not to buy branded processed food so I can't really comment on their stuff vs branded stuff, but compared to Asda or Tesco brands they don't seem much cheaper for own brand things.

Their frozen fish is good value and I do like finding new things that I hadn't heard of before; eg scotch pies with a cheesy mash top (made in Scotland) which I didn't even know were a thing!

Precipice · 02/09/2024 18:20

They don't have shops near me (they have some out of town), but they keep leafletting me, so my association with them is irritation at junk coming through the flap in my door.

ODFOx · 02/09/2024 22:41

Zombie! Sorry, I hadn't realised when I responded.

shellyleppard · 02/09/2024 22:47

I use my local store most weeks. Get milk and bread from there, also random bargain buys. Fruit juice which my sons love, yogurt is good value too. My only complaint is the size of the store. It's very very small and they can't stock a lot of stuff. Especially the giant Yorkshire pudding which we love with a casserole in the winter
