I failed in January but definitely need to reign in Feb or my mortgage will not be paid. Best of luck to us all!

I'm in for March, too! Even though the ££££ flights to the USA will not seem very frugal, they have been budgeted for. 😊

Two NSDs and then today I had to pay an insufficient postage fee of £2.50 (although I'm not even sure what it is!) plus nearly £320 for work travel to London in mid-March (which will be reimbursed at some point, probably in May!).

Payday tomorrow, and mostly on budget overall. Well done everyone, and see you on the March thread.

I'm in for March.
I budgeted £10 per day feb to account for random spends and have maybe £15 left over I'm hoping to spend even less next month. £10 per day may be high but it's 1/3rd of what we had been spending when not tracking. We had a total of 15 no spend days.

I'm in for March

I'm in for March. Still in credit at the bank but only just! Pension pay days are coming up but had to renew passports this month and still have cat operation coming up on Friday. So the flexible friend will have to bend!!

My payday is tomorrow, but I have transferred £200 into savings, so that is a huge (for me) saving of £500 for February as I had already transferred the £300 i would have paid in council tax at the beginning of the month. And that is a total savings of £620 since I started on 1st January. I am very pleased with this because I also bought a new tyre and had to get new glasses, and had a couple of treats of a hair cut, nice moisturiser and some new jeans.

I'm in for March, but that will be a much more spendy month as we have a birthday, and we are going away for a week, so will be eating out.

Hi everyone, just took stock for this month, and all in all I'm pleased.

11 Spend days recorded on my app, one was Dermatica which I forgot to cancel annoyingly but I had ran out, I have put a reminder to defer again when it's next due.

I have ended the month with approximately £120 leftover, and have a good start on the kids birthdays, anniversary gifts and Christmas.

I'm in for March, sales are mostly done now so there shouldn't be much gift shopping besides Mother's Day and Easter eggs which my husband is heading out for later with our clubcard vouchers.

Hoping to put some aside for car insurance in March (not due until June) and some to start redecorating the home. I'll also be doing some selling on vinted as we still haven't unpacked everything and the boxes are driving me crazy, clearly we don't need the contents!

Hope everyone is doing well and had a good February too.

Frugal February!

That’s an amazing roll well done.

Also in for March. It may have to be a very frugal March as I'm usually paid on the last day of the month, and there's no sign of my salary yet Confused I have Tesco and Iceland orders ready to go but can't afford them till I've been paid!

(I think this is because my job has just moved to a different part of the company - the actual job is the same, but in a different dept - and the new dept's pay arrangements are different, they pay every 4 weeks. Well, I'm hoping it's that and not a subtle way of telling me I'm being made redundant...!)

Which app to you use to keep track of NSDs @psuedocream3 ? I have a spending wallet app which is useful for keeping track of DDs etc, but it doesn't have that function and it'd be great to see!

Checking back in! Payday today. After our week away this month and booking a family event for this summer it’s definitely going to be a Miserly/Moderate March here too. Do we have a new thread yet? 😃

I did the March shop today as I had cashback that expired today. £80 for (hopefully) two weeks of food. I also bought some hairbands as mine have mysteriously all gone missing. Next month I do need to buy some new work trousers. I have £12 in my Vinted balance to use for that. See you on the other side all!

psuedocream3 · 01/03/2024 11:22

@ElizaBalfour It's called HabitNow. You can set up a new habit as 'no spend day' and then change the days to green, yellow or red. You can add notes to each day such as spends which I use to keep a tally of my total spend. It also does statistics to show you how many days you completed per week/month/year, a success/fail chart, a graph for over the year etc.

Spent £25 on a mothers day cream tea, and transferred £200 from the council tax money to savings. Keeping £100 back from that for our holiday which is later in the month. The little bit of extra money is mainly why we go in March, as well as the dog being allowed on the beach out of season.

moimichme · 02/03/2024 07:48

I had a successful February, too, overall, with 14 NSDs in total for the month - not bad considering we had two birthdays in it!

Payday on the 29th and sent £300 to savings. I have spent for a work trip in mid-March (will be reimbursed eventually) and £41 on stocking up replacement toiletries for myself and ds. This one is a danger category for me, but I stuck mostly to what we needed, rather than extras.

Also spent £11 ish on groceries, rolls and fruit yesterday to get us through to our next big shop.

Starting to dread making a final decision about our flights to the USA to see family (we have budgeted for it). One of those things where I'll probably feel much better once it's been booked! See you on the March thread. 😊
