Batch cooking

Looking for ideas for batch cooking for myself and a 15 year old (girl) fussy eater. Things that I can stick in the microwave to warm up. Only so much spaghetti bol I can eat (that's what we always have)!

You might find the Nosh books helpful. DS cooks quite a lot from Nosh for Students and I made the chilli beef from it last night. https://noshbooks.com/

I make curry, bean stew, chilli and spaghetti bol. I use all sorts of different sites for recipes. Mainly veg space or the bbc site for ideas.

I currently have various curries, dals, lasagne, and stew. If you make a ragu it can be altered/used for lasagne or chilli as well as bolognese.

I make a batch of rice and freeze it. Make batches of naan and other breads and freeze them. Keep frozen veg on hand.

I bought this book. There's not a single recipe we'll all eat 😂😂😂

@Kwasi oh dear that is a shame. My dc can be fussy but there is some regular stuff in there, that they happily eat. I hate being responsible for everything we eat. We often end up with multiple meal options.

Food shopping and meal times are so stressful. I have a carnivorous DH, a carby DS and then I have special dietary requirements. We all have separate meals bar a weekly tuna pasta bake, but even then we have to do two variations 😂

Tik tok is great for this

We do various curries, beef stroganoff, mac and cheese, spag, lasagna, savoury mince with homemade mash, beef noodles, Chinese chicken balls, meatballs, chilli. Oh and this weird breakfast type thing, that’s hashbrowns, eggs, bacon and onions that’s done in the slow cooker then tubbed up and frozen.

Basically Ill try freezing any meal once to see how it copes and reheats. If it works I’ll do it again. We don’t like stews so don’t have them.

Anything, really.

Thai green curry, dhal, any curry, chilli, casserole, fish pie (no prawns, they don't cope well with cook-freeze-reheat), cottage pie, stroganoff, arabbiatra pasta sauce, home made pesto, savory mince, pilaf....

Thanks all! I'll take a look.
