Against everyone else's experience we have had a bad experience with Octopus.Despite several attempts they couldn't get our smart meter to give them the information so just kept billing us on the normal tariff Despite us repeatedly telling them we used our washing machine,tumble drier and dishwasher at night.And charging our EV.They eventually agreed they owed us several hundred pounds.In October. We're still waiting. Yet another phone call today.Very frustrated and disappointed.

That does sound annoying and definitely not at all my experience and everyone I know who is with them. I’ve been with them ages and on the odd occasion I’ve had to contact them they’ve always been excellent, quick to respond and gone out of their way to help. I remember when I first got my smart meter there was an issue to begin with and it wasn’t communicating the gas readings to them but it was quickly resolved. Any credit that I’ve ever built up, I’ve always just requested a refund through the website and it lands in my bank account a few days later and if I ever want to change my direct debit amount, I just do that through the website as well.

Hope you get your problems sorted out soon.
