Extra money or mental health

After all bills (including food) and mortgage we have £1200 left to use for everyday items/treats/birthdays/Christmas etc.

I'm currently part time but do have the chance to pick up another day a week which will increase our take home money by around £400 or a little over, a month. The reason I went part time was due to stress at work which was definitely causing me stress athome and I wasn't very happy in myself. Peri meno didn't help!

I feel I should do the extra hours for extra money for the family but I'm scared I'll be damaging my mental health and also I wasn't nice as mum. I pushed to drop hours due to this and I may never get back to this part time hours again if I give it up.
Dh thinks I shouldn't take the hours.

Dc 9 &7 & dh wfh just to add to context

What would you do?

Mental health comes first.
Money cant buy health.
You are managing so why jeopardise it.

Im sure your children would prefer you happier and less stressed.

I agree with your husband. u are in a very FORTUNATE position.

£1200 is an amazing amount.

@Candlelight34 thank you so much, I do honestly see that we are in a fortunate position but I'm just feeling a bit guilty, yes kids and dh both would prefer to have me work less- it's a job I bring home and work at night and weekends after a full 3 days so I'm loving the part time e for a but of breathing space!

It sounds like the extra £400 is a ‘it would be nice’ not a matter of keeping the roof over your head or feeding your kids.

You already know the extra hours will make you miserable and by the sound of it spread that misery to your family.

I think it sounds like a really bad idea.
