Gloves for typing?

I need some gloves for typing, probably fingerless, which will enable me to work without heating. Any tips?

I like Turtledoves cashmere. They are pricy but you can get seconds off eBay (though you can’t choose the colour). I got a couple of pairs from the website and one pair from eBay for less than half price and other than being an ugly grey colour, I can’t see any defect.

Would second the Turtle Doves cashmere fingerless gloves. Keeps my hand really warm without being bulky.

LuckOfTheDrawer · 01/10/2023 19:30

I'd third TurtleDoves 😄!

I’ve got ones like turtledoves, but not cashmere as I’m allergic. Eb@y sells plenty.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 01/10/2023 23:03

Another vote for Turtle doves

Turtledoves on eBay is apparently now doing non-cashmere as well.

I've got Turtle Doves cashmere too and would recommend.

Fingerless mittens rather than fingerless gloves allow unimpeded movement of fingers.

Are Turtle Doves actually fingerless mittens, ie no finger holes apart from the thumb?

WGACA · 01/10/2023 23:40

Turtle doves 😊

Brand called Heatholders are excellent and around £15 a pair. I have a pair which are fingerless but also have a pull over mit (if you were out in the cold). Lovely and warm and fewl very nice on your skin too. It's awful you're having to ration your heating OP, I hope you are OK!

Yes

FallingAutumnLeaf · 02/10/2023 07:04

DH stole my turtledoves.
He couldn't get on with fingerless gloves - he needs no material between his fingers to type.

DsTTy · 02/10/2023 09:29

I have the Turtle Dove wrist warmers (they’re heavily marketed on here). I don’t like mine. They way they move whilst I’m typing, and how they slip up my arm, really annoys me. I’d try fingerless gloves.

There is a thumb space and the rest goes round all the fingers. Not like normal gloves with the fingers chopped off

If anyone is thinking of buying Turtledoves from the website, the sale (30% off) ends today.

I bought a cashmere mix jumper from the charity shop a few months ago and made 2 pairs of mittens - drew round my hand to make a pattern. They're in my home office now waiting for the cold weather. I was going to wash the jumper on a high temp to felt it (no fraying) but realised when I got it home someone had already done that before giving it away! So 2 pairs cost me €5 and half an hour sewing time.
