Fixed rate? How do I work this out?

Hi all shell energy have offered me a fixed rate but unsure if it's a good deal or not. We currently pay around £110-£120 monthly. Can someone help me work this out if this would be a better option to accept. Abit clueless on kWh meaning and charges.

If you can access your bills for the last 12 months you should be able to check how many units you used for Electricity (including at off peak rates if you are on economy 7 or similar) and for Gas.

The annual figures are given on the bill screenshot. Using these figures I dont think its worth fixing as the increase in the standing charge on the electricity offer cancels out any savings made on the lowering of the price per kwh on both the gas and the electricity

From my calculations the fix ends up within £1 or so of the variable tariff

Is there a charge to come off the fixed rate too?
You dont want to be tied to a fix if prices drop again

The proposed unit rates look cheaper but the standing charge for electricity looks mental. You probably need to look at your annual usage and work out what your unit rates would cost for each and then your annual standing charge for each and see which leaves you better off.
