Renting annual income

Hey guys

Wondering if anyone knows more about this as I am clueless

I work in a commission job I do have a basic but get a lot more than that with commission

I know with renting there's an affordability thing as to how much you can pay on rent and but would it go off my basic or an average do we know?

It's all confusing when you get paid commission

Thanks

Most agents / landlords will ask to see your contract to see what it states about commission and for evidence of your commission being paid over the last six months to a year so that an monthly average can be worked out. They’ll then decide whether or not the rent is affordable for you based on that monthly average.

There’s also a chance that some landlords will decline you entirely if they don’t think your income is reliable enough, so it’s important to be upfront when you’re arranging viewings what your situation is.
