Talking about elec/gas prices without stipulating your usage is just a bit pointless IMO. This energy price crunch has really revealed how many people don't understand their energy bills or where their usage is going.
Discobeat that is an insane amount of elec usage! How are you getting through 2000kwh/m? That's industrial-level usage, not typical domestic.
For comparison we (large 5 bed house, elec cooker and showers) used max 500kwh/month before we fitted solar, now more like 230kwh/month from the grid. You could possibly make some very substantial elec savings by fitting solar and a battery and shifting some of your usage off peak.
Practically all our electricity usage is off peak rate as we have solar and a battery which we charge at night, so I think our electricity increases will be very minimal. (I appreciate fitting solar isn't an option for everybody which is a real shame as it can really make a dent in your energy bills)
Our elec prices (Octopus Go) will be going up as follows in April:
Standing charge up from 51p to 56p a day
(So 4p/day x 30 days in a month = £1.20 increase per month)
Peak elec up from 42p to 46p per kWh
Offpeak (nighttime) elec stays same at 12p per kWh.
We currently use about 230kwh of grid elec a month mostly at 12p/KWh off peak rate, so about £28 for that plus £15 standing charge, total about £45-50/m
We will use less grid elec over the summer months as solar kicks in.
Our central heating is oil so we are at the mercy of oil prices for that but I reckon we get through £200/m of oil in winter months and £40/m oil in the summer months so maybe £1500 oil per year, possibly a bit more.
