Surely it depends how much you earn? Full time minimum wage is lower than someone on 60k.

Defiantlynot41 · 30/03/2023 14:15

There are plenty of take-home salary calculators online such as www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php

greenspaces4peace · 30/03/2023 14:20

MN age demographic even country of residence is varied.
those that work FT might not be on MN till the weekend. if a spouse/partner/dh is a high earner the MN user may not want/need to have a high income work more than PT/locally/easy location.
then there’s the issue of validity.
I don’t see how asking will be useful.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 30/03/2023 14:20

Why not tell us what career you are looking to pursue and we can advise if we have salaries related to that
Otherwise it's just useless data.

Nope. Nobody's business but my own.

BarbaraofSeville · 30/03/2023 15:45

But unless you're going to get a job with the same salary as the people replying, how does their answer help you?

R669 · 30/03/2023 15:46

£4000 after tax

Dracuuule · 30/03/2023 15:47

I don't get what your asking? Go for the highest salary YOU want in the industry YOU want. Adjust if your expectations or qualifications if you need to.

Moonlightsonatas · 30/03/2023 15:48

You can work out what you’re on now and calculate how much you’ll get on the new wage. Then you’ll know the difference.

The UK median full time wage is about £1700 a month.

LookingOldTheseDays · 30/03/2023 15:49

I'm wondering how you have managed to get a job that pays a "decent amount" without also being bright enough to realise that the question you've asked in meaningless and will give no precisely zero useful information.

LookingOldTheseDays · 30/03/2023 15:49

^ give you precisely

Alarae · 30/03/2023 15:50

Not for everyone, but training to be a qualified accountant/tax advisor on a grad scheme will take 3 years. Newly qualified will be paid 45k-50k in my area (commuter town to London, but not London based).

AuntiePhoenixClaw · 30/03/2023 15:50

You need career advice on what salaries are commanded by different jobs. It took DH 7 years to qualify for his job so though his salary is decent there is the time to consider plus area of the country you are in.

Greensleevevssnotnose · 30/03/2023 15:52

The question is nonsense

TheBrokenCracker · 30/03/2023 15:54

This is a how long is a piece of string question

If you know what new job you want them people might be able to help with advising on the pay for that if you can’t find from salary surveys. Then you can get post tax from a calculator.

fruitbrewhaha · 30/03/2023 15:56

I wont suggest a career as a researcher.

Lcb123 · 30/03/2023 15:58

if you want to calculate the deductions from an annual salary (tax, NI, pension), there’s plenty of online calculators.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 30/03/2023 15:58

fruitbrewhaha · 30/03/2023 15:56

Love it.

Or a careers advisor.

Gazelda · 30/03/2023 15:58

What career path are you moving from and to? Surely that's a pertinent part of your planning?

What do you earn per month?

TeaForMeandThee · 30/03/2023 15:59

I pay into a pension and still have a student loan to pay off, that eats a chunk. Why can't you just put the salary of the jobs you are looking at into a tax calculator, that's how I work out what I'm going to take home when I move jobs. I don't understand how asking randoms on the Internet for their take home pay will help you? Or are you looking for careers advice?

Cookerhood · 30/03/2023 16:02

Sometimes zero. At times it's been £10000/months.
Probably a completely different industry to you. Does that help?

finalwhistle · 30/03/2023 16:31

What everyone else said. Plus your income isn't that relevant without taking into account your outgoings.
