I’m sorry another how much is your electricity bill question but for two adults?

Apologies for the 10000000000th ‘how much’ question but no one I know is in the same setup as us so can’t really gauge.

Two adults, one cat, one bedroom flat. Both of us WFH 2-4 days a week.

Mine is about £70-80 a month, no gas but we do have a separate hot water bill (for heating, bathroom and kitchen hot water only not dishwasher or washing machine supply). That bill averages 15 a month.

Before this whole shit show I was paying only £25 a month with Bulb :(

Two adults one WFH
No pets
no dishwasher
laundry room so no washer or dryer in the flat to be paid for
heating is gas and included in rent
electric shower
one bedroom flat
With OVO energy
mainly cook in an air fryer

£55-60 per month

Chasingsquirrels · 17/03/2023 09:44

1xadult and 1x17yo - 5 nights a week
(plus a visiting adult at weekends and a 20yo during unit holidays).
4 bed house.
Adult works out of the house 3 days a week.

Over the last winter I've averaged around 9-10kwh a day, and monthly bills averaging at around £110-£120.

Hot water & heating is oil fired, so on top of the above.

BarbaraofSeville · 17/03/2023 14:12

The unit rate has more than doubled in a couple of years and the standing charge has increased by a similar amount so that's why your prices have increased like they have.

MakingTheVeganYorkshirePud · 17/03/2023 16:58

11 Feb - 10 Mar elec was £62.

2 adults, 1 dog in a 2 bed semi.

Gas was £162.00.

MakingTheVeganYorkshirePud · 17/03/2023 16:59

We don't wfh.

Wisterical · 17/03/2023 17:03

One adult, wfh in a 2 bed flat. Pay quarterly and latest bill for gas and electric (November, December, January) was £350.

Reallybadidea · 17/03/2023 17:04

Most of that will probably be your heating costs. It's going to be incredibly difficult to compare with other people who have gas central heating.

As the big price rise was in October, your current bills are the winter period so should go down a lot over the summer. I would check that your unit cost is correct and that if you're on economy 7 that this is appropriate for your usage.

AnnaMagnani · 17/03/2023 17:14

2 adults, no gas. Have electric boiler + immersion heater.

Dec 22 - £700!!!

However in August it would be £170.

Bill has doubled since the crisis. I used to pay £1800 a year. I've already paid £1500 this year so far.

It's the water and heating that kills it.

Debzyrobinson · 05/12/2023 21:41

Have you seen the news, if your on a smart meter you are paying double.

KievLoverTwo · 05/12/2023 23:02

250-400 pm for two of us for all energy usage, home all day, 2400 sq ft detached house. No excessive energy usage of any sort.

Summer: £135ish. Elec is 95 and never changes. Cooking is electric. Meals are standard stuff, nothing requiring extended cooking, no baking.

Last year's total including wood and its various bits was 3.8k.

  • we also basically live in a bloody wind tunnel, which doesn't help.

House is new (11yo) and well insulated.

Mercury2702 · 05/12/2023 23:04

£74 a month here for 1 adult and a child in a 2 bed terrace. I’m with Utilita. I remember when I used to only pay £25 a month 🙈

DaftyInTheMiddle · 05/12/2023 23:07

£250 this month for 2 adults (1 wfh) and a toddler, nearly shit myself. We’ve had the heating on but still been cold. Absolutely miserable. Luckily we had the credit to pay it. It’s been around £110 previous to the cold snap. 3 bed semi with shite insulation and windows so not surprising I suppose.

Nannyfannybanny · 05/12/2023 23:12

2 adults, detached 2 bedroom bungalow. £60.50 per month, overall, gas and electricity, but we have solar panels. In the summer ours is paid for, plus export tariff roughly £60 payback, which covers the winter months. October to march we don't make much, but have economy 7, roughly half price electricity at night. It's cheaper to use a dishwasher than wash up by hand. I cook with electricity, have an emersion heater, gas just for heating.

Nannyfannybanny · 05/12/2023 23:13

£60 export tariff is per month.

Ladyj84 · 05/12/2023 23:14

4 kids 2 adults 3pets
EON
monthly direct debit 155 covers all gas heating and boiler and electric appliances. I actually have a disability so pretty much living with the heating on as I feel the cold awfully also dishwasher etc so I think we are fairly happy with that amount and water is in with rent

Nannyfannybanny · 06/12/2023 06:32

Why are pets relevant on this post! My dogs don't get a say in the bills. Might be different if like my DD you have "tropical" and a tank to heat

@Aposterhasnoname complete rubbish!

Where on earth did you read that? I'm pretty sure people with a smart meter are not paying double rates compared with those not on a smart meter.

Caspianberg · 06/12/2023 07:01

Electric -£150
heating and hot water - £260

Thats a 3 bedrooms, 3people full time, 2 work from home full time, colder climate than uk so heating on 24/7 and it’s darker earlier. Electric covers a 2 bedroom separate annexe also (rented 50% year).
