I have two cats and the cost of their food has increased loads over the last year. I downgraded from Sheba to Felix as good as it looks to Felix original and get 96 sachets for £25. They won’t eat food in gravy only jelly. Is this the most cost effective currently ?

Butchers do cat food as well. Supermarkets sell it. I don’t think anyone is suggesting that dog food should be fed to cats. 🙄

Whilst you’re rolling your eyes, be aware that it was a genuine question. I didn’t know Butchers did cat food and some folk don’t know that cats need taurine and will feed cats what they enjoy. Our Siamese cats actually prefer dog food (they nick it from the dogs dishes).

Butcher's is on zooplus, if anyone wants to buy online. My cats don't eat it, so can't swear by it. I have two fussy eaters, they were fed good quality food since always and now they go on strike on and off, so we need emergency whiskas pouches despite people telling how shit they are. I'd rather have them eat whiskas than die of starvation. Cats can be very stubborn.

I agree. As much as you try to give your cats good quality food, if they won't eat it, there's not much you can do.

Yep. Starving them doesn't work. It's really bad for their liver and my cats just lose weight, they rather be hungry than eat something they don't fancy. It's horrible, because I worry then about their kidneys etc. due to dehydration.

Exactly. As I said I tried the good stuff, and they rejected it. They love Felix, and are pretty healthy on it, so no point giving them anything else.

We used to get 12 pack of tins from Tesco that cost £6.70 but always used to be on clubcard offer for £5 so I stocked up during this time. Recently needed to get some more and the very same 12 cans are now £9.20! So have switched to cans from pets at home, they are £13.49 for 24 cans so works out £6.75 for the 12 cans. Cats seem to like it ( I have 5) and I also give them them Go Cat dry food. This is the cheapest I've found. I'm saving £5 every 24 cans I buy by buying from Pets at home
