Low income state pension will I qualify?

I have always paid towards my state pension as worked full time until a few yrs ago when I went part time but have been paying it still as earn over the 242 weekly limit, I need to reduce my hours so will earn less than this and am unsure if I'll still get contributions to my state pension...? I've seen a statement on the gov uk national insurance section that says you do not pay national ins but stil qualify for the state pension if you are earning between £123 & £242 a wk and that's it - this reads to me that I will be ok for my state pension but I just want to make sure!! And underneath it says your contributions are treated as having been paid to protect your national ins record.

Maybe citizens advice would be able to help you.

Go to government gateway. There is facility to check your NI record on there.

There is also an NI credit helpline.

Contrary to popular belief, citizens advice generalist service does not have access to HMRC or DWP information.

Thank you both this is really helpful, I'll try and track the NI helpline down for advice 😄
