Can't help but notice a trend, and my wife is a big conspiracy theorist so let's test it. We just came back from a holiday for two weeks, turned off all gadgets, tech and lights in the house (I posted elsewhere and this includes computers, printer, alexa devices, washer/dryer etc, and heating was baseline for the period) and there was NO change in our bill before, during and after... got us thinking!

Post how many rooms you have smart meter or not and rough price you're paying. Let's see if there's a massive statistical difference.

Do you mean your energy usage or direct debit amount?

When we went on holiday, our usage dropped as we weren't using anything. The smart meter showed this.

However, our DD did not change because, why would it?

Your DD is very high btw. Ours is around half that, and we're currently paying even less due to the £66 reduction.

My usage was a lot lower in July than it was in November. As I am on a budget plan, my payment was the same in July as in November.
With direct debit budget plan you do not pay for what you use, you pay based on annual estimated usage split in to monthly payments, which gets reviewed every 6 months.
Image from smart meter data... clearly shows usage a lot lower in July than November.
