Where do people get freebies?

I always see people getting free experiences post photos on IG, reviews left on Amazon in exchange for a free product…

Where to go for all these freebies? I really need to start doing/getting more for free/discounts.

Toddler mum so free days out to keep them entertained and anything of that nature very welcome.

I used to do quite a few Amazon reviews via Vipon.com, which was originally called Amazon Reviews

Until Amazon changed their rules there were very good deals on Vipon, and reviewers were rated which led to better chances at getting the free items. But with the rule change sellers are not permitted to provide discounts or free items on the basis of requiring a review.

I cut down majorly when most sellers offers were turning into fake discounts, eg you could buy an item for £5 elsewhere, but it would turn up on Vipon for £10 ‘discounted’ to £6 for reviewers - so you would pay more for the privilege, and all reviewers requests would be accepted rather than having to apply and be selected on your reviewing quality rating.
(the ‘quality rating’ didn’t get high by giving lots of glowing reviews, but for giving plenty of detail and what appeared to be a genuine review)

There’s an ‘exclusive’ Amazon review programme run by Amazon with genuine free stuff, but it’s by invitation only based on your reviews so far

wellkeptwallet.com/amazon-review-sites/

www.amazon.co.uk/vine/about

I had vipon recommended to me by a friend because they spotted particular products, then to build up my rating I made sure that I reviewed as much as possible of my old purchases, went for cheap & free review offers and worked my way up with lots of photos & plenty of text. I would look around at other reviews of the same and similar items to see what aspects people were commenting on and also checked out the product questions to see what people tended to want to know

I took on a fair few of items I didn’t want in order to build up my ratings and would pass them to others (and getting their feedback)

To be a legit Amazon Vine reviewer you have to be invited by Amazon.
You cannot request to be a Vine Reviewer & there is no waiting list you can go on.

Any other 'company' who want you to review on Amazon are generating fake reviews (& sometimes they even fool the people reviewing for them)
If you are caught doing fake reviews you get your account closed & you are banned from being an Amazon customer.

Nobody (including reviewers) knows how they decide who gets into the program.
Some people are invited who have plenty of helpful reviews that have been voted helpful.
Other people have been invited who have zero reviews.

You do have to have spent a minimum of £50 a year of your own money on Amazon before you get invited.
They've changed most of the criteria recently, so ranks are gone & Vine is now tiered.
If you meet your performance targets, you can go to/stay in the top tier.
If you don't you can get demoted or chucked out.
Lame companies selling rubbish will try to find out who you are & hassle you/try to con you into giving them 5 star reviews.
If you do you & ever get caught, you get chucked out.

You cannot sell or give away items you have reviewed until 6 months after you have reviewed them.
Amazon can ask for them back within those 6 months (unless it's a disposable thing like food/tissues)
No matter how careful you are, some of what you get sent to review is utter rubbish you now have to store for 6 months.
You can't just cherry pick the really good stuff, you have to review some of the junk too.

The IG people have built up big enough followings that they can approach companies & sell the notion of exposure to their followers.
They spend hours contacting people to get someone to give them stuff etc..

Some companies also offer those freebies in exchange for sponsored videos to bigger channels.

You are either invited (if it's something like Vine) or you build your own 'business' & work at it like any other salesperson.

Either way it's full of hassle with people you don't leave good reviews for hating on you, other reviewers bitching about you if you get better stuff than them or they think your reviews aren't as good as theirs etc... & finding out who your real friends/family are if they discover you got stuff 'for free' & won't/can't/don't want to (because it's actually more work to keep it up week in week out than you would think) share.

Netgalley gives free e-books for a review

If you don't want to go down the paid reviewer/wannabe influencer route, you could have a look at the freebies section of Hotukdeals.

I've had a few free National Trust visits recently because they had free visits in newspapers - I just bought the cheapest one and binned the paper and there was also one on their own website.

Or you could buy a membership if there's somewhere you can go regularly - not free, but works out very cost effective. If you or your partner work in the public sector there's various clubs and discounts available that give you very cheap English Heritage membership.

Also look at the Moneysaving Expert weekly newsletter, lots of freebies there. I find it much easier to do things like change a bank account for the incentive than scratch around with surveys etc. You can get up to £200 with a few minutes work instead of endless surveys where you might end up with a £10 voucher.

Or you could try mystery shopping?

I use a company called tryit and have had numerous free products for a review. I think over 250 free products now. Some are small like food and drink. Others like free hoovers etc....
