Morning all Grin

Just that really ... due to my laziness on always forgetting to dry properly after the dishwasher is done and my oven has warped them my existing oven trays (I.e the flat rectangle ones you bung chips etc on) are rusted and horrible so I need to replace. Oh and my round sponge trays too Confused

I'd like to replace the lot but as cheaply as I can and I promise faithfully to ALWAYS dry my new ones thoroughly!!

Happy to look at brands but also supermarket own versions too!

Thanks x

I'd recommend silicone for sponge cakes... following for trays though....

maximist · 30/10/2022 09:29

Asda sell a range called Neverstick, they're black with white speckles and they're brilliant! I have oven trays in three sizes as well as various pans, and use them a lot.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 30/10/2022 09:31

Sainsburys are the best imo, really heavy duty.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 30/10/2022 09:42

Glass Pyrex ones. They are amazing!! They will never rust and can go in the dishwasher happily.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/10/2022 10:05

I got some Tala ones from TKMaxx about 7-8 years ago, still going strong. I always use them with a silicon tray liner though.

Ariela · 30/10/2022 10:16

Can't stand the silicone ones, they always taste chemically somehow. Anodised Aluminium is the way to go.
I'm quite a fan of John Lewis ones generally, but my best sponge cake are Silverwood - IMHO worth investing in.

Ostryga · 30/10/2022 10:16

Sainsbury’s heavy gauge ones are the best. I’ve had mine years and they’re still perfect.

Mmm some things to ponder ... metal vs Pyrex, silicone liners I'd never thought of those.

Cheers folks, good to hear a range of £ options.

I like the Pyrex ones for things like chips, but I have a couple of stainless steel ones from Amazon for pasties, cookies etc.

AdoraBell · 02/11/2022 18:01

I was told by staff in a shop not to put them in the dishwasher. Apparently the DW has so much force that the water gets further into the joins than when washing by hand.

EdHelpPls · 02/11/2022 18:14

I like the scoville neverstick. They don't have that annoying folded over rim at the edges. I have put them in dishwasher but honestly they are so easy to clean I just handwash most of the time with a damp cloth. Zero scrubbing required even if I've accidently left it in the oven for a few days!

APurpleSquirrel · 02/11/2022 18:35

Scoville Neverstick for trays
I like silicone cake pans - not got any round ones, but the square ones I have are great. I have some round spring release ones from Lakeland which have been going strong for many years.
Silicone liners are great too - I've got flat ones from IKEA for cookies etc; & precut sized ones from Home Bargains I think.
Best oven chip tray is this from Home Bargains:

Definitely Scoville. An absolute revelation and well worth the cost. I've had mine for ages and no signs of wear or needing to be replaced.Dunelm sometimes has them on offer.

yoshiblue · 02/11/2022 18:52

Scoville - amazing! I find Asda is the cheapest for them

pastabakeonaplate · 02/11/2022 18:53

Tesco cheap non stick ones. Nothing beats them. Thin so things heat up quickly. Last in the dishwasher. Cheap to replace when they do eventually go rusty (several years)

APurpleSquirrel · 02/11/2022 18:54

Sainsbury's sometimes have Scoville on offer too.

Gazelda · 02/11/2022 19:16

Scoville trays are on offer in ASDA at the moment.

This makes sense!
