Ive been with eon (duel fuel) the entire time I've lived in this house, so at least ten years. It swapped to eon-next this spring, which is officially (apparently) a new supplier. Hence they can't tell me what I have used for the last year, they can only link me to old bills.
Now the thing I'm confused with...
As I said they can't directly tell me my usage, but they can give me an estimate. My electricity estimate is near enough spot on with what my usage is according to my meter. No problem. Now gas, is not so simple.
My gas estimate is in the region of 26,000 kw/pa
My estimated meter reading last august was 3505 (only an estimate I know, but this fits perfectly with actual readings in other months), and this august is 4604 = 1099kw/pa. Last month I used 355kw of gas (back boiler GCH/hot water, using hot water only). I don't run my heating anywhere near 24/7 in winter either.
So, does anyone know how this 1099 relates to my usage (should there maybe be a 0 on the end and I used 10,990kw last year? That sounds vaguely plausible...?), and where the hell the estimate of 26,000 kw/pa has come from?
Obviously if no one can figure it out, I will have to attempt to explain this to eon!
If it helps, I was apparently overpaying my gas, as I had a £400 refund on the gas side of my account back in June. But this is now months down the line and if they had over-estimated my gas, surely they should have fixed my estimate?
Thank you for any input 🙂
