Price cap and LPG bottles help please

Hello

I have highlighted my question at the bottom if you don't want to read a wall of text :)

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't see anything and googling didn't really help me.

I live in an area of the UK with no mains gas so we rely on LPG bottles, last year through winter we got through 2 47kg bottles every 4 weeks ish and it was £106 for 2. Last year our electricity was £65 a month and then gas on top. There is no option for a 12 monthly DD to spread the cost you have to pay as you use.

This year our bill rose to £97 for electricity, we are average users in a small 3 bed semi and there is 3 of us. Our daily standing charge is more than twice what it is in some areas though, I cant remember exactly but it's about 67p I think which bumps the cost up.

I am estimating electricity is going to be £170ish month but I have no idea about gas and it is really stressing me, me and DH both work full time but for just above minimum wage and I don't know how we will handle a £500 energy bill.

Does anyone know if LPG bottles are subject to the same energy price caps as mains gas?

I KNOW we aren't in a unique situation and I know a lot of people are worse off.

Domestic bottled gas is not covered by the price cap.

They aren’t covered by the price cap but we are in the same situation. That said, we currently pay £160 for 2 cylinders (SE England) and we haven’t had any letter from the gas company saying they are increasing the cylinder price rate, so it might not be subject to quite the same fluctuations as mains gas?

Same with oil for central heating purposes. I've just paid £1250 for 1500 litres which I hope will see us through the winter for heating and hot water. There is no way to spread this cost. Suppliers will usually only deliver with payment up front.
