Can anyone advise which appliance is quick to cook say a casserole? My elderly in laws are looking at buying one to help them cook meals.

A slow cooker is by nature "slow" things take a long time to cook at low heat.
A pressure cooker on the hob is an ideal way to quickly cook soups/stews/joints of gammon.
I use both but would give up my slow cooker before my pressure cooker. Root veg cooks really quickly and you can cook carrot, swede and potatoes at the same time. I use mine for soups / stews / curry / bolognese etc.

I bought a instant pot 9 in 1 electric pressure cooker, it also has slow cooker function. I rarely use hob now.

We have the fast slow cooker by Sage and I absolutely love it. I use it to pressure cook rice and there’s loads of slow cooking options. You can sauté, steam and reduce in it as well, really useful.
