Gone from one job to three!

In the past couple of weeks I’ve gone from one part time (31 hours a week) to 3!

We need to save this next year for various things that have come up so I purposely intended to seek extra work (and I’m thrilled I’ve found it!), but I’m just wondering how to fit in rest/down time too?

I’m also studying for a qualification too.

My hours are : 31 in my main job, 3-5 in my second job, 6 in my third job (Saturday) and 4 hours study a week.

Any tips from anyone with multiple jobs would be greatly appreciated!

Watching with interest, about to start a 2nd job. Currently work 35 hrs WFH and starting in a weekend role. Absolutely no savings anymore and desperately need to boost what I'm taking home now.

Good luck @patrickbatemansbusinesscard - we can do this!!!

That's not a huge amount of hours (lots of people regularly do 50+) but balancing the different jobs plus studying and getting in different mindsets might be a challenge. A refreshing one though, I hope. Congrats on the jobs OP. Out of interest how would that work with tax etc?

@Poppins17
Best of luck to you also Smile

@Wiltshire90

Re the tax, I did the online salary calculator and it will be classed as a 2nd job so a higher rate taxed on that job.

Can I ask what additional jobs you have got?

I will start my own thread but am currently working part time and looking to do a few hours on my 2 current non working days but need something that is just school hours. Not sure if I will get any work with such limited hours!

On the tax, your personal allowance will be allocated to one job and you might pay too much on the others, so it's really important to contact HMRC in April to get the overpayment corrected. You can do it yourself over the phone, and you should get your P60s from your employers before you call.

Good luck! I've just gone from one full time (compressed hours) to additional day on my midday day off. The new one already feels more than one day's work, and will need a few hours admin doing at the weekend. But I'm grateful to have it.

Don't have any tips yet, but I'm aware that, three days in, the contrasts are good. Yes, there is loads to do, and I'm tired, but job 2 makes me see the benefits of job 1, and vice versa.
