Budgeting and apps

Hi everyone,

I recently took on a full time job, I'd been working part time term time only but decided that now my last child is leaving primary school it would be a good time for me to return to full time work.

For the last few months it's been great, we've had more money that we've ever known and live has improved hugely.

However an unfortunate turn of events means that we now need to save as much money as we possibly can over the next months, and probably for the next few years. So the convenience of Hello fresh etc is going to have to stop.

I've written down a plan of action and worked out our income and expenditure, but it would be really handy to have an app I can quickly add spends to and keep a running total, I've downloaded lots but can't seem to find something simple that I don't have to pay for.

Does anyone have recommendations?

This month I've put the money into savings at the beginning in an attempt to kept it out of the joint account and out of sight. And I intend on doing that every month

School holidays are not the best time to start this I know, but we've been put in a situation that means we don't really have a choice.

Any advice appreciated Smile

I like Fudget - it's really simple, you make your own budget pots and it's v quick to add funds/expenditure. Unlike most of those apps you don't need to enter all your income and outgoings (I prefer to use a spreadsheet for that).
