To work part time or not

After some advice please
Dh has an income of roughly 13000pa and I'm a carer on CA. Looking for part time work but when I put in a supposed income of about 5000pa, because that's roughly how much I can earn and still recieve CA, it takes away our entitlement to the working tax credit, although we still receive child tax credit.
Do you think it's worth losing the working tax credit element of this benefit and continue to work? Bearing in mind I am a carer, am studying and have other children.
Thank you.

No, i don't. There are circumstances where it costs you to work. You can probably use the extra time to cook more from scratch and do some sorting and ebaying of any junk you have. Or mending and altering clothes to make savings that way.
