Nct sale pricing

Hello folks,

I have a few bits to sell at an upcoming Nct sale - could anyone help with suggested pricing please? They are taking a 30 percent cut. I need to price to sell as I won't be taking the unsold items back.

The items I'm having trouble with are:

Girls' tap shoes worn once rrp £15
Baby Christmas sleepsuit and hat set bnwot
Clarks size 4 girls' shoes barely worn, light up
Girls' toddler DM style boots not worn much rrp £15.
Girls new Next plimsolls
Genuine Buggy Board, was secondhand when we bought it but we have used it once.
Thrupenny bits feeding cushion.

Thanks for any advice!

So clothes and I would say no more than &/, shoes no more than £4 and big items no more than £5!

People don't want to pay for anything to be honest, I do/go to a lot of these sales

They should only take 25% if you volunteer on the day. eBay is often a good guide for pricing, look at what similar items sell for and go a bit under. I don't know about Tap shoes, but theShoes probably won't go for more than £3, plimsolls for £1, you may get £10 for buggy board and you could get £8-£10 for feeding cushion, they should sell well. Your best bet is to see if any similar items are selling when you drop off and if your pricing is way off change it!

Tap shoes £5 although you may be better selling through the dance school you use, do they have a notice board?

BNWT clothing 50% of original price
Used clothing 20% - 30% original price

IME shoes other than wellies don't sell very well. Out of 5 pairs of as new shoes / boots, only one pair sold and that was when I dropped price to £5 (had cost £35 new and barely worn).

Thanks all, that's really helpful.

That's interesting about the buggy board, Pebbles, I actually paid £35 for it on ebay, so was planning on pricing at about £20, I think I probably hugely overpaid Blush

Go and see if there are any others and what they are priced at, I don't think you overpaid on eBay, they're £50 new, I've sold at quite a few NNS's though and am just trying to guage what they may go for. You could start it at £20 and then reduce if there are no takers? You can do that, just take a pen!

Thanks :-) it's just annoying as they are selling my stuff for me, I won't actually be at the sale (due to an annoying in-law clash). Think I might save the buggy board for ebay!!

Not worth selling clothes or shoes if they are taking a 30% cut. You would need to price v low. I am not sure tap shoes would sell as NCT tends to be very baby orientated. Buggy boards are worthless unless you have uncut adaptor threads. Buying adapters costs more than the board. £10 would be about right.

Sounds like you might be better at a mum2mum market as they take no commission and you can sell your own stuff ( so check what others are selling for and price a bit lower!)

I sell all my baby stuff in fb. It's so easy and i can price cheaper to sell it as i keep all the money.no postage costs either!

I actually didn't realise these places took such a high %, won't even bother going to 1 as know everything is priced higher cause of the organisers!!

BooseysMom · 08/10/2018 21:57

I've done a few NCT sales and at first i over priced everything and found out the hard way so the next one I am under pricing just to get shot of stuff I've held on for ages. At the last sale i watched people inspect the jcb crane I had priced at £7 ..a third of the price as new ..and it never sold. Things like Next trousers I now price at no more than a pound. People won't pay much more. I always volunteer to reduce the cut taken. Looked into the other markets..mums2mums? the last one was cancelled due to lack of interest. Maybe the cost of a table is too high. Good luck x
