Cheapest way to supermarket shop online?

I currently shop in Aldi weekly. Am returning to work full time soon and will no longer be able to fit the shopping in. Therefore I need to shop online for our weekly shop. We’re very limited here - Tesco or Asda. Which is the cheapest overall? I’ve used Morrisons in the past and prefer it price/quality wise but they’re yet to offer a delivery service here.

Unless your busy everyday aldi opens till 10 pm & onot the weekend.
Other than that asda is cheaper than tesco

Do it through mysupermarket and it will compare all the supermarkets including Aldi for you, it takes into account current special offers etc and suggest swops to make your shopping cheaper. You then checkout at the supermarket you choose.

If you use Asda then do the price check guarantee - I get a few pounds/pence here and there and it all adds up (expires after a period). I switched to Tesco to use my club card points for Avios. I meal plan and only buy what I need - down to individual carrots. I then revisit the basket several times to make sure I've not gotten carried away. We are fortunate and don't need to budget as such as there's only so much damage 2 people can do when purchasing the essentials, but I cannot bear wasted food so really try and keep it down where I can.

If you plan to be a loyal subject, look at the delivery passes which are a one off fee for the month and no extra delivery charges.

I hadnt heard of mysupermarket thanks
I have considered doing it in Aldi stil at night but I’m a teacher and have to work once kids are in bed. It’s also a 15 min drive each way and I wonder if driving there and back just for the shop would negate any savings if I’m careful at another supermarket

Why not try Ocado?
They always have brilliant deals for new customers. Right now they have 30 percent off your 1st shop with free delivery for a year

@FreshHerbs Thanks for sharing. The free delivery for the year does sound good Smile But are you still eligible for free delivery if the next couple of orders are below £60?

INeedNewShoes · 30/03/2018 05:27

Asda definitely seems cheap when you look at the product prices but then it's completely negated by big delivery charges.

Such a shame that you can't get Ocado. Have you checked whether Morrison's deliver to you? They seem cheap.

I use my supermarket too.

You log into my supermarket, select you preferred shop and shop as normal.

Before your basket is 'sent' to Asda (or whatever) you see options of cheaper things or get 'more for less' which will tell you if 1Kg or something is cheaper per gram than 500g.

You chose which ones to swap. It also gives you an idea of what your shop would be at the other supermarkets.
You then send your basket to chosen supermarket and check out.

I tend to pick my delivery spot with the supermarket then open mysupermarket in a different tab so I have a slot reserved when my basket is sent.

I don't know what the drivers are like everywhere but I had tesco deliver in the snow, my carer couldn't get to me so they unpacked everything for me. Another day my carer wasn't here they unpacked and offered to put in cupboards and fridge for me.
