Does anyone do paid online surveys?

I'm thinking of signing up to a couple of those paid survey sites to make a little money in the middle of the night when I've got insomnia. Has anyone tried them? Any advice on which ones to join/avoid?

It's not a crazy idea at all EasterRobin although I completely understand the people who say it's not worth it and you make pennies. You have to be dedicated.

I have just cashed out another £2.50 in Nectar points in the last few minutes though! I have made so far this year £135 in nectar points which go a long way towards groceries but better you max them in the Tu sale, or for meals out or save them for Christmas if you can.

Head to a website called the MoneyShed, and read some of the forum posts on the subject for some tips, because when you've been doing these surveys a while you start to notice patterns and learn little tricks.
I would say, always, always cash out as soon as you can, these sites could close down at any moment and you don't want to lose your hard work, always be honest with answers (they do audit from time to time) and if they find discrepancies you will have your account blocked.

With Panelbase you often get invites to join other platforms, so for example I sometimes now get invites from GFK, they send me surveys that take 2 minutes to fill in then I get a link to cash in an E voucher for £1 (not a lot but for a minute or 2 work) I choose Tesco, I have a folder on my computer to store vouchers (have £12 Tesco so far) and save these for Christmas. Panelbase also pay well for product tests - I got £20 for testing a mid range face cream, they are always mid to higher end products like Olay or Garnier and you get to keep the product. I have had loads of tests from them, anything from chocolate to shampoo.

I've done quite a few surveys for about 10 months now.

YouGov pay out £50 but it can take about 9/10 months to get to 5000 points. Try signing up with 2 different email accounts to run seperately

I also go on PineCone but surveys are few and far between.

Other ones are Onepoll, opinion outpost, toluna, opinium, mingle.

I reckon I've made about £300 in cash/vouchers since I started last year. It's mind numbingly boring and very frutsrating when you get kicked out but I just do a fe whilst I'm watch TV.

There's a dedicated forum on the MSE about surveys

Good luck

I've just joined panlebase and "take part in research" off the back of this. I'm looking to ditch some of my less lucrative ones. Certainly wouldn't recommend Toluna, for instance.

I think different panels work better for different demographics. My favourites are OnePoll, Pinecone and Prolific Academic. I also find YouGov, MySurvey and Valued Opinions worth my while.

I must have had hundreds in vouchers over the years plus some good product tests, like a kettle and a Nest thermostat. Dishwasher and washing products crop up very often too. It's certainly not anything like minimum wage but I just do them in the evening while watching TV.

Panelbase is very good starlings and great for product tests. Be sure to pay attention for any survey that says Community Recruit - these are normally either product tests or will sign you up with other more lucrative platforms, e.g. TV watching diaries where you might get £30 (more like online focus groups)

I agree Toluna is rubbish, I've had £20 from MySurveys in the last 3 weeks, but nothing since. Mintvine is excellent although slow to pay. My favourite is E-rewards, I've had £160 so far this year in Nectar Points. Valued Opinions is good I agree and is a sister site to e-rewards. Another one is Vocal Views, these offer online focus groups and you can get anything between £30 and £100 for taking part and they are fun.

I found mine on Martin Lewis website.
Don't pay much but I used to save the PayPal payments and use them as they accumulated to buy Christmas presents on line. They pretty much paid for Christmas for me 3 years running.

Do you have to declare income for tax if you earn over a certain amount? I'm interested in doing the surveys but not if its going to mean a lot of tax paperwork!

You are self employed when you do this so yes, you should register as such and do a tax return. I do ( I also have other self employment) although I may be one of the few!

Tax returns are easy.

Sign up to Job Spotter. Love this app. When you see a job advert, take a photo plus a photo of the shop signage. They pay varying amounts and pay out in amazon vouchers. You can also cash out whenever you like. I have made about £30 this month just whilst going about daily life. Get the app on the App Store or play store.

I use Qmee, I don’t spend long on it all, perhaps a couple of hours a week and I make between £30-40 a month.

I use prolific , brings about 8 to 10 pounds in a week . I've also signed to intellizoom beginning of July. Made about 65 quid so far. And clickworker that's usually another 10 a week. Although its been busy this week so I've done £20.

I did, and had to do a LOT of surveys for £10 a week. Then I discovered matched betting and knocked surveys on the head!
