Cutting my spend on "monthly" matters

Just been doing my end of year receipt sorting and wondering where the money goes and I have worked out that I spent nearly £200 on tampons, pads, panty liners and intimate wipes in 2016. OMG!! I have long and heavy periods and use Tampax brand with liners and pads and then have a bad habit of using 3 or 4 Always Daylies plus disposal bags every day between them. I'm planning to go to supermarket own brands in 2017 and cut down on my liner habits. Any advice on best cheap brands/shops that work as well as Tampax and are supermarket baby wipes OK for down there?

Chucking in my support for the Mooncup. IMO its the cleanest, most cost-effective way of dealing with period.

Another mooncup vote, and if your periods are heavy enough you worry about leaks you can use washable pads at the same time as backup. I have also got some 'period underwear' as I cycle everywhere and find the poppers on the washable pads are uncomfortable (also a US brand, but bought online from a UK stockist).
If you like using wipes, you can also use reusable wipes for that I suppose - we use reusable wipes for nappies.

Just wrap in loo roll to put in the bin (not on loo!) but if you really prefer bags then basic nappy bags are very cheap.

Supermarket baby wipes are fine, I use them for my bum cos I get piles if I drag dry loo roll over it all the time.

I use only basic range pads, they seem fine but I have a Merina so my periods are very light.

Manufacturers must love some of these pantyliner weAring, Femfresh , gullible customers

This always happens on here Angry Why do people think its acceptable to be so fucking rude about people who need pantyliners? Would you say this to someone who needs incontinence pads?

I, in common with many other women, have too much vaginal discharge to be comfortable in just knickers. I would feel damp and uncomfortable all day. It's been checked out, its definitely physiological not pathological. It does not make me an inferior human being, nor one that it is OK to belittle and laugh at just because of a sodding pantyliner.

I use washable liners and pads from CheekyWipes. Most importantly, they have things like penguins and rainbows printed on them!
I used to have some pants that had a built in terryour towelling bit, they were great. I think they were Sloggi.

I use a sea sponge, much much easier than a moon cup and I just buy pads for evening protection from Home Bargains.
