We have a package with bt. Unlimited broadband, anytime calls, line rental and a 5 quid add on for tv. Its costing us 57 a month. We are skint. There has to be a better deal out there??

Desperate to change too. But I have ten years of self employed emails on my btinternet email that I often need to search back in for work, so I guess I'm also stuck. Watching responses on this one with nterest!

marl BT told me that I would keep my email address if I left which was a lie, but you can pay a monthly fee to keep it, not sure how much think it was maybe £5 a month which may be worth it to you if you use it for business.

vodafone don't give you an email address, luckily I use hotmail for my business so wasn't worried about losing BT and I still have the BT emails on my windows live mail so can still see them.

I negotiated with BT last year. Told them what ee were offering me and they beat it. We pay £14 a month and line rental up front (works out to £16 a month) for unlimited fibre, entertainment plus TV and weekend calls (on a landline we never use). It shaved £20 a month off our previous cost and we have better internet and TV now.

Do try plus net, pay £187/annually for the package you require.

poisonedbypen · 30/01/2017 15:38

You can keep your email address. Some companies charge, others don't.

Also make sure you are comparing like for like - or at least, the same level of broadband / TV / whatever is important to you.
I thought I'd spotted better details elsewhere but the amount of broadband on offer wouldn't have sustained the thirst 2 adults + 3 teens have for constant wi-fi.

specialsubject · 02/02/2017 14:05

Having just had the sky increase notification, I did a comparison this morning. All the companies have put up prices so there is no point changing.

Remember inflation is still officially under 2%. Is it hell...

Omg.
I'm paying about £75 per month
I have fibre broadband, BT view with eve/weekend calls.
No option to get virgin as I'm rural.
I need decent BB as I work from home.
My home hub keeps needing resetting. Drives me spare.

TupperwareTat · 21/02/2017 22:29

Just line rental, unlimited broadband & weekend calls with B.T.
£23.99 a month. I had to sign for 24 months though Sad

ihatethecold · 22/02/2017 09:16

I have to have fibre infinity, because i run a phone line from a server 10 miles away for work.

I have called them and will be getting the newest hub and still have BT view, the price is now £60 per month.

So slightly better and hopefully a better internet connection

specialsubject · 23/02/2017 14:16

BT won't price match but will reduce to a point. Unlimited broadband and anytime calls with line rental saver should be about £40 a month all in.

Same with talk talk is £20 but do you dare?

JaxingJump · 23/02/2017 14:25

Total rip off. I get a deal every year. 3 yrs ago Sky broadband and line rental I made a profit of £5. 2 yrs ago I paid £60 for the year with Talk Talk. This year I'm paying £11/month with Sky again.

I get the deals on martins money tips every September. I assume there's good deals at other times of the year.

ihatethecold · 23/02/2017 16:10

I would never go with talk talk.
I have to have fibre infinity due to working from home.

BG2015 · 24/02/2017 21:45

Just moved from Sky (£22 a month) broadband, line rental and calls to EE (£28 a month) but moved to fibre. Sky could've done it for £29 but I went via TopCashback and have got £125 for doing so.

Fibre is tons faster. You need to haggle.
