I have a growing collection of stuff I have been intending to sell for years some time now. It's all sitting in my spare room and wardrobe getting in the way and pissing me off. It's a mix of baby clothes/toys, consoles/games, crafty stuff, adult clothes,

I have a day off tomorrow and I have to stay in for a delivery so I've decided to dedicate it to sorting through what is there and getting a start on listing it.

The money will be going towards Christmas.

Does anyone want to join me in clearing out their unwanteds and making a bit of Xmas cash?

Have your tried shpock app or Wallapop or gumtree
You can sell for free on these apps.

Plus if sold in your local area then no delivery costs
I've just sold a karaoke machine for £15... It was just sitting around the house never used it

I know this thread is kind of old but I thought now would be a great time to restart it, with Christmas fast approaching!

I have made £24 today through selling stuff - DS1's old bed sold for £20 (we only paid about that & had it a couple of years Grin) & a toy sold for £4.

Also, not selling, but I reached payout on my Valued Opinions surveys & got a £15 Amazon voucher which should more or less pay for my niece & nephew's Christmas presents Smile plus 6p on my Qmee account for a search (not much, but it all adds up, right?) Grin

I forgot about the £6 voucher I received from Tesco Orchard to spend on cheese, too Grin

Why not recycle your items for cash ? Clothes, household and even broken electrical items can return valuable space and earn money-back, we use a company that pay £1 per kilo on some items (RecycleCollection) and they collect, we got £44 for a small load. recyclecollection.co.uk/cash-clothes/

Many charity shops refused some furniture, videos and other items, but the recycle company will charge to remove, but still it takes away the unwanted items.

If you have time another great option can be to use Shpock for local items like big furniture, bikes etc, also Preloved, Gumtree or if you can store up in the garage do a Bootsale !

I just sold a sofa set for my inlaws on Shpock for £50! Bargain for the buyer and in laws we're happy because I managed to sell their old sofas they had for 20 years haha

So the selling apps I have come across which are free are as follows:

Shpock
Gumtree
Wallapop
Facebook

Apps you have to pay to advertise:
eBay

Are there any other sites to sell?

bluesbaby · 09/05/2017 16:20

ebay the first 20 listings a month are free

pamish · 16/05/2017 19:20

Just sold a Kindle with a broken screen for £3 on ebay. Hope the buyer can fix it, I think new screens are a regular market stall job now. I put it on as BuyItNow but open to offers, that seems to shift things, rather than auction style.
Have a few other slightly broken things...
