I think she may have changed to AGenie

Cagliostro · 14/08/2016 13:32

Ohhh ok cool :) I thought AGenie seemed familiar :) I haven't caught up with the thread yet so am a bit behind on who's who!

Under £7 for some grey plasticine and some plaster of paris. Thought we'd hedge our bets. Also instructed DH to get some Smarties tubes if they have the hexagonal ones :o I shall have to eat them (DH can't as they have gluten!). The things we do for our kids eh? :) Still, we will use some for maths as well...

SnugglySnerd · 14/08/2016 16:05

Eating all those Smarties - what a hardship!!
DH persuaded me to go to walk in and they've booked me in for an early scan. Need to sort some childcare at short notice now. £3.75 to park for little over an hour!

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/08/2016 16:14

Better to be checked snuggly.

allthebestplease · 14/08/2016 16:40

Snugg hope you're seen quickly.

We managed a family day at the beach today, would usually get a pub lunch and waste money on the amusements, but you guys have turned me round, I made a pack lunch and avoided tat. Only bought a drink a lollies. Phew.

8FencingWire · 14/08/2016 16:47

£50 in Lidl today, but I've got enough stuff for a couple of week's worth of menus.
Got some meatballs for DD, I'm making her half with chips, half with spaghetti.
Got some green beans to make into a stirfry, with peanut butter sauce, sesamy seeds etc. That makes us about 4 portions.
I am making couscous with roasted veggies one evening.
Then we have omelette with spring onions and fresh bread for tomorrow.
Falafel and pitta bread is also on the menu.
And fajitas :)
And I got some pasta for a quick meal for another evening.

I still cook double what we need. I have a small freezer, so I need to watch it. But I also must ensure we have stuff ready for september, when she goes back to school and we're back a bit later.
I must put together a menu for school lunches, I don't think she'll want school dinners, she never did, apparently 'those people can't cook!'

I still need to buy her school shoes and some underwear, the rest she's got.

Can't wait to get paid, this month is the first one with my new system in place, designated accounts that exH can't interfere with!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/08/2016 16:53

Have had a busy day in the end, I mowed the lawn this morning with my new lawn mower! The grass looks very dead short and extremely patchy but am assuming will spring back to life when the weather turns?

Went to a fun day this afternoon and it had loads of free activities including a climbing wall Shock dd was very pleased. The only spends were drinks £1.30 and £2 for dd to have a go on the paint a pottery stall. Pleased with that, the queue for the ice cream van was ridiculous so convinced dd we didn't need one and then popped into my mums on way back and she had some anyway - frugal win!

Snugg hope all is o.kay, def best to get it checked.

Its been crazy hot here today so am making the most of the chance to get all the washing done, have washed towels, bedding and clothes today (I'm so rock n roll Hmm Grin )

Need to get back into menu planning, Need your's all sound delicious Envy am thinking its too hot to cook tonight so bacon salad it is.

Tomos will have fish n chips as going to Lyme Regis for the day.
Tues hot dogs and salad.
wed jacket pots with tuna and salad

Can you see a theme emerging Wink

CremeEggThief · 14/08/2016 16:55

Glad you visited the OOH, Snuggly and I hope you get your scan soon.Brew

NSD today, as I'm having a lazy pajama day and watching the Olympics all day! I think yesterday took it out of me.Smile

Colliefeatures · 14/08/2016 17:00

Girlie ours does that when we mow it then after some rain and sun it turns luscious green!

Colliefeatures · 14/08/2016 17:01

snuggly hope all is well x

Tryingtosaveup · 14/08/2016 17:06

Snuggly, don't feel silly for worrying, anybody in their right mind would worry. But that doesn't mean there is anything to worry about. DD bled with both pregnancies so I suspect t it's normal. Feet up GP in the morning. Hope you feel ok.
Me, I think you did amazingly well to go with friends and not spend anything. Brilliant frugaleering.
I have had to go and visit a friend in hospital today, a long way away. I am annoyed because I should have taken something to eat with me and I forgot. Frugal fail. So £2.57 on snack and £2.50 parking.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/08/2016 17:29

Snuggly I hope the scan is good news. It's better to know than not.

Girlie Meh. I can beat your day, I've done 4 home insurance quotes and put hot water and caustic soda down the sinks Grin It's non stop fun here.

Grass comes back.

£134 home insurance. Should get £31.50 cashback & I got really good levels of cover.

SpaceKablooie · 14/08/2016 17:55

Another LSD (and weekend actually) here Smile.

Snuggly, I hope everything is fine.

McNo · 14/08/2016 18:20

Only spend today was the weekly shop done at aldi, only spent £43.60. It should last the week apart from a top up of milk and bread.

needastrongone · 14/08/2016 18:41

Sounds like we have all had 'domestic' days. Smile

Girlie, you can feed your lawn with weed and feed. I don't know the ins and outs of the process, as DH is Lawn King, but it seems pretty easy, and the lawn becomes very lush and lovely for the price of a weed and feed packet. Time it so that it rains the day after you do it though.

Good work on the insurance Fluffy, especially if you have good levels of cover.

Your life seems a bit mental at the minute girlie.

NSD - the first in such a long time.....

Cagliostro · 14/08/2016 18:56

I've been so hooked on the gymnastics I totally forgot to do dinner Blush :o

SnugglySnerd · 14/08/2016 18:57

Thanks everyone. My nausea is back with a vengeance so I'm taking that as a positive sign and sipping peppermint tea.
Have friends coming round shortly for a take away. Don't really fancy a takeaway but the distraction of company will be good.
Thank you all again for all your support. Have only told 2 people in real life so it's nice to be able to discuss it.

Cagliostro · 14/08/2016 18:58

Have a good evening Snuggly x

Whataboutwhathuh · 14/08/2016 19:00

Used up my excess of plums and apples and made a cobbler to have after our roast chicken. Was all delicious and now I have stock bubbling away on the stove. I love roast chicken on a Sunday. It does us three meals easily.

Snuggly hope all is well x

BertieTodd · 14/08/2016 19:32

Hope all is good Snuggly.
I had a tiny bleed at 17 weeks and it was fine, I was glad I got it checked out as I was reassured and they 'cleared it' if that makes sense so it was gone straightaway, otherwise I would prob have been bleeding and worrying for a few days.

Spends today :
€24 in Tesco, only popped in for one item but everything else I bought was on special offer so I'm happy enough with that.
€2 in local shop on pizza bases as the ones I had in freezer didn't defrost very well.

Having a lazy evening here, I've had a busy weekend with DS; he eats really well at Creche which is great but then he isn't hungry for his supper in the evenings. It sounds ridiculous to say that not eating at his normal time on Friday evening messed up his entire eating / sleeping schedule for the weekend but that's what happened. Add teething into the mix and it's been quite a stressful weekend, I'm drained Confused

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/08/2016 19:45

Yes Need it is quite busy at the mo Grin its all good though so am not complaining. I started off with not a lot planned for next week but bit by bit things get booked in, have made sure I have a few days with not a lot happening though as want to do really exciting things like paint the shed Hmm Grin I am loving not being at work!!

allthebestplease · 14/08/2016 20:28

Oh my...im so excited watching the olympics. Golf, gymnastics and soon it will be tennis. Yikes.

Cagliostro · 14/08/2016 20:31

It's brilliant isn't it! I showed the Caglets how to make a little spreadsheet and graph on Excel, we've got 2012 totals and current 2016 totals which we will update every day. #nerd :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/08/2016 20:36

Fake away burger sauce is amazing. Tastes just like MC Donald's but you don't have to eat it in the car while arguing about napkin distribution and listening to radio 4.

AGenie · 14/08/2016 20:38

Have you noticed that we have had 713 posts in 11 days and lots and lots of frugaleering thoughts in amongst the very essential chat. We must all be on serious frugaleering form right now.

NSD for me today, which is a pretty rare event. I think I'l go and mess that up by ordering Tesco now. Ooops.
