Working tax credit.

Hi, im new here and completely confused my working tax credits.

Im a working single mum Currently working 16.2 hours a week on £7.85 an hour. I recieve working tax credit, child tax credit, child benefit and housing benefit.

Im confused as to the new laws regarding working tax credit that are starting in April. Will i still get it or will i lose it?

Already tried asking them over the phone, they just told me to fill out a questionnaire.

Any help is much appreciated.

Unless I'm missing something the chart here seems to imply no changes.Don't know if that's true or not but that is all I could find about it. As far as I know the proposed changes which would have meant an average loss of about £5 a week were the subject of a government U- Turn. I don't work for HMRC by the way - just trying to help solve the mystery that is tax credits!

Ive been talking with a friend in london, he's been researching it for me.

He says- 'so atm... if your income increases by anything up to five grand your tax credits wnt be affected, in april they are reducing that to 2,800'

Going by this, the only thing thats changing in april is the above.

He also said that the lords overturned any cuts to tax credits so they arent cutting tax credits anymore.

You will be fine it's only when you switch to UC ( between 2017-2019/2021 )that you need to worry.
