Welcome ipsos you'll get plenty of support here Smile
I've had a good week, several nights when I have really wanted to give in and get a takeaway but I've held firm.
Renegotiated our deal with Virgin for tv, bb etc. So now have a much higher spec bundle for less money.
Am fed up with the chrome storage accessories we've got in the bathroom which have all rusted to some extent so I've spent some time this morning putting reviews to that effect on websites of the companies they were bought from. It's outside any guarantee period but I just don't think they are fit for purpose. So far I've got the offer of a refund or replacement from Lakeland for a toilet roll holder. Every little helps...... Am going to save up and go for stainless steel next time

needastrongone · 21/05/2015 15:18

NSD. Well, lunch to claim back.

Welcome ipsos.

SO glad my DC are teenagers and there are no childcare costs. Although, they are more expensive to feed and holiday costs increase, plus their hobbies and activities can be a strain (thinking of you DD and the pony)

OK, these Nutribullet smoothies are filling me up too much, I have lost 4lbs since the weekend. Caveat, I am the sort that does drop weight easily.

Finished work until Tuesday, hooray Smile

lila Was it you that thought you weren't doing as well as you had hoped re paying off debt. Don't be too hard on yourself, you are making inroads, and not going backwards.

pass hope the cramps ease soon. And your DS is ok collie

Hope your ds is o.kay collie that sounds bad poor chap!

So a man from the council came out and fixed what ever was wrong with the hot water this morning, it took him nearly 4 hours though Shock will be so nice to have a long hot bath tomos!!

I went to see my friend and her baby this afternoon, stopped at the shop on route to get some bits for lunch £3 ish, also picked up bread ystd and some much needed chocolate which was £2.

Need to do a shop tomos, will probably go to Lidl and need to work out exactly what I need as going away Tuesday so don't want to over buy.

No idea what I am going to do for tea tonight, might do another Bolognese maybe although have no red wine for the sauce (1st world problem Wink )

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2015 15:48

White wine is just as good girlie! We're having bacon and pea risotto. Yum.

needastrongone · 21/05/2015 16:20

I have stocked up at Aldi with the El Paso mexican kits. The DC love them. Having Enchiladas tonight, but vegetarian. Will use up the copious amounts of veg we have. With a salad.

Never ceases to amaze me the cost of kids shoes Ipsos

needastrongone · 21/05/2015 16:23

As an example of how much teenagers eat. I bought 12 yoghurts from Aldi on Tuesday. It is Thursday, there a 2 left. Neither DH or I have had one.... DS had 6 (SIX!!) Weetabix for breakfast. He is like a bean pole too.

I've used bacon, peas, onion and stock. Parmesan will be added at the end and if I had any I would add fresh mint.

this recipe is a good one to use as a base and you can add whatever you like to the rice. You'll need to check it near to end to see if it needs more stock but if you start making it frequently you'll get to know how much you need.

babsmam · 21/05/2015 17:12

Welcome pixie too.
Nsd so far. Tried to buy a leaving lunch for a pal but she insisted on paying. Will save £4 on class tonight as going for a run.
Nerd to meal plan the holiday and shop though

£3.60 on a subway....treating myself to ease the pain of early commutes as it's stopping soon. .

Off for a massage later, £25 I think but needed as I keep getting knots around my neckSad

Dinner is chicken fajitas, stretched from a cold chicken we had last night.

Gorgeous weather, glad I jam packed the washing line last night. Need more pegs as some of mine are breaking as have got brittle in the sun. ..grrrr

Oh and might have to take unpaid leave next tues for the tube strike. Bloomin annoying.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2015 17:41

I always need pegs they seem to disappear/break all the time Hmm

Welcome pixie and bird
Quidco is good for cash back on car insurance ..

NSD! Grin

I did 'internet window' shop though.. and am thinking of buying a beach tent for our hol.. we go to Greece most years Dh is a sun bunny and tans as soon as the sun looks at him whereas I am polar white and you could see my legs (and the great wall of China) from space (also I burn easily and if i really try to get a tan all I do is go a dirty shade of cream - nice!)..

Anyway we rent a house every year but the beaches we go to are exposed.. Dh laughs because i end up taking the house sun umbrella and then fixing up extra shade underneath it with a couple of sarongs and washing line and pegs (its the Girl Guide in me ) . However, it can be windy and in the last few years I have been very envious of the fantasic beach tents used by mainly Scandinavian and German tourists. So am thinking... I might get one of these ...

Quite cool huh? Most importantly, good UV rating, light and packable! Yes its ££ but I need something that will do the job and isnt tiny. What do you think?

I think I signed out of the pension years ago, I possibly had a serp? Some fa told me to. I will check next week.

I'm not planning on relying on a pension anyway after seeing a couple of people pay in for years and the fund failed!. No compo they had to go back to work.

£7 later on fish and chips.

Free purple sprouting broccoli on Checkoutsmart in lidl. Can be blanched and frozen.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/05/2015 18:24

I got some free granary bread on the tesco online food shop earlier. One per customer online only

ipsos Good news. However, be aware that the £1500 pa in 30 years time (or whatever), won't buy what it buys today. I worked in the pensions industry at a decent level, for 15 years, when I had a career, before DC........... Smile

But better than nowt!!

Welcome pixie, sorry to have missed.
