NSD yesterday. Today will be fairly spendy!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2015 11:07

Pass, it was meant to be a chicken dinner.

Are magazines always cheaper in morrisons? I bought the gardening mag in there for £4 instead of £4.25.

babsmam · 24/04/2015 13:01

Don't know fluffy but mine was £4 too. Thanks for the tip. £9.60 in Morrison and £2 on forgotten milk. Hopefully should be it for today

girliefriend · 24/04/2015 14:10

Right have been doing my bit to get some money coming in the right way today!!

Took some clothes back to Tescos that were bought for dd but were too small, was expecting them to give me a gift voucher as I didn't have the receipt but they actually gave me £16 cash Smile

Paid a cheque in from pet insurance people £46

Changed 40 euros into pounds £25 (bit rubbish exchange)

Took some skirts back to Sainsburys that dd didn't like £10

So that is nearly £100 up Smile

Spends £1.90 parking, £4 on some new daps for dd, £1 on some green tea from pound land!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/04/2015 14:42

Nsd.

Frugal win: got four decent sized samples from the nurse at work of cream for dd's eczema Smile

AdoraBell · 24/04/2015 16:47

Well done girlie

That's great Spotty

I paid half of Pilates, £30, should be all today I think. I have a cold but don't need to buy anything special, already have vitamins and paracetamol in the cupboard.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2015 17:12

£44.50 on food for us and the cat. Seems to cost more in the summer.

£4 magazine.

81p 3 bottles of loo cleaner.

£1 loo roll.

Should get 80p back off shopitize and 25p off snap'n'save.

Happy weekend everyone!.

Unescorted · 24/04/2015 19:24

NSD here ... working from home makes it easier. The local shop being closed for a refit made it even easier.

Frugal win of my day was 3 hair cuts for a couple jars of chutney and jam ... hair cut for barter with a friend. I will over buy on spices and make her a spice kit.

Spotty can you not get the cream on a free prescription or is your DD too old. We used to get hydromol for DD but she is allergic to the soft parafin in it... just made it all worse. I would send it to you but I think it is well out of date. If it is the stuff your DD uses then I will check it and send it down if it is still OK.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/04/2015 19:29

I usually use aveeno for dd but it's not top of their prescribing list so easier to get it from work. Lovely nurse gave me some other things to try too. It's much easier than taking dd to our Drs Grin luckily she doesn't get it very badly.

Unescorted · 24/04/2015 19:32

Ahhh... no worries. Pleased she doesn't get it badly. Our grumpy one appears to be growing out of it now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2015 19:35

Costco sell aveeno cheaply. Do you have one near?.

CremeEggThief · 24/04/2015 19:37

£3.60 travel and em... that's it!

Happy frugal weekend, everyone Smile.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/04/2015 19:39

Thanks anyway Smile she gets it on her lower back and elbow creases but that's it although I assume school swimming twice a week might aggravate it?

No fluffy unfortunately not, we don't have a wilkos or savers or anything like that either.

AuditAngel · 24/04/2015 22:19

£1.40 parking at hospital to collect mum.

babsmam · 24/04/2015 22:23

No other spends today. Should be a NSD tomo too. Will have to get some food though.
Goog result on getting money back spotty. Just reminded me I have a baking tray to take vs k to sainsburys that randomly came on my shopping

I've had two consecutive evenings out! I would very much like to still be asleep but DD and the cat had other ideas!
Spent £39.40 in total including a 3 course meal in the pub, drinks and the train fare into town. I didn't think that was too bad for 2 nights.
Supermarket today, need to make plan/list. Otherwise no more spending planned this weekend.

Unescorted · 25/04/2015 06:58

Morning All - was hoping for a NSD, but have friends over for dinner so need to get some wine... The rest of the day is going to be cooking and cleaning. Sad DD wanted a chinese banquet Hmm now I have bought everything she has decisded that she will now be eating a baked potato with her brother. Double Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 25/04/2015 07:00

My food shopping is coming today and it's £84 Shock £10 over budget. But it includes lots of snack for Disney next weekend plus next weeks nappies as won't have enough to last next weekend. Pil have given us £100 towards next weekend which is amazing.

Meal plan for the week:

Fish cakes with stir fry veg
Roast chicken
Chicken quesadillas
Fakeaway
Fresh stuffed pasta
Sausages and mash
Southern fried chicken in pitta with salad

girliefriend · 25/04/2015 09:28

Today need to get dd some new school shoes, was hoping her current pair would last until the end of the month but the sole was actually hanging off when she came out of school ystd Blush may have a look at school summer dresses as well.

Otherwise dd horse riding lesson £15.

Hopefully no other spends.

LaChatte · 25/04/2015 10:38

DM had DCs for the afternoon yesterday so DH and I could have some time together, we were supposed to be going to an acrobranch thingy, but Mother Nature decided otherwise, thanks for that AF Angry .
We ended up going to loads of "broquantes" (second hand junk shops) to browse. Bought three lovely vases for €7 and a telescope for DS for €30 (looked it up on eBay when DW got home: new €110, second hand €80, so very pleased with that).
Had a coffee in town (€5) then went into a bookshop and picked up a couple of books for DS (€22, ouch).
Had dinner in one of our favourite restaurants (€40) and went home, so a spendy day overall.

€20 left in the bank. Payday on Tuesday.

LaChatte · 25/04/2015 10:40

*when we got home, not DW!

Pointlessfan · 25/04/2015 10:47

Just did food shopping for the week for £38 - really pleased with that!
Meal plan:
Tonight - different curries from freezer, Bombay potatoes which I will make with some leftover spuds and samosas.
Tomorrow - some sort of aubergine/tomato/mozzarella concoction - just got an aubergine for 30p.
Mon - veg chilli and rice
Tue - pasta with veg plus half jar of pesto.
Wed - lasagne with Bolognese from freezer
Thurs - jacket potatoes with left over chilli
Fri - veg fajitas.
Looking forward to all that!

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/04/2015 14:16

£5.99 on speshul compost for the pots. Their on the front so Dh has fixed them to the slabs with bolts. I think it'd be easier to pinch the house now.

We're getting lots of compliments on the turf we laid, it was only cheap online so I'm pleased it's taken.

CremeEggThief · 25/04/2015 14:28

NSD. It's cold up here today- 6 °!

My shopping is coming later, so £44 will be debited from my card on Monday.

Here's my meal plan:
Today- lentil Bolognese (from freezer).
Sunday- Quorn roast, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, stuffing and gravy.
Monday- butter bean, carrot and potato stew, with crumbled feta and pitta bread.
Tuesday- same as Monday.
Wednesday- pasta and Mediterranean veg bake, with feta.
Thursday- same as Wednesday.
Friday- veggie burgers, wedges and salad.

I am going to try out kale, banana and almond milk smoothies for the first time this week. Has anyone else tried them? My sister loves them.
